May be so but you must admit it might be fun to drive a 4 rotor from cheev, at least till it breaks lol.

 

All of my car buddies think I am crazy when I tell them that there once was a 4 rotor, rear engine, corvette concept car.

 

I told my son about the mid engine 73 corvette and he said i was craszy until i showed him the article ha ha.

 

I can only imagine all the pissed off vette lovers.

 

GM took a serious look into the rotary as far back as 1960.

So did Rolls Royce, they even went as far as to develop a dual rotor diesel engine. The smaller, top rotor was more if a Wankel supercharger to get the needed compression.

 

Almost every company was experimenting with rotarys in some way. John Deere was even developing a diesel rotary into the 1980's.

 

I remember this car, it was developed as a show car the same year I bought my first rotary , an RX3 coupe from Mazda , while I was a 22 yr old driver in college.

 

sure wish i had the bucks to buy a 3 rotor to stick in my 04 8.

 

One of my friends thats a Chevy freak told me that GM "toyed around" with rotary back in the day but never decide to use them because of reliability. Not that I didn't believe him I just never looked it up. He still never raced my toy rotary FD with his small block Chevy tho lol.

 

Except Chevys are awesome and the LS/LT1 motors are superior engines in terms of reliability and raw power.
