Nice numbers...man, factory turbo engines just spoil the owner. So much potential to untap for so little money, FD's were/are the same...

It and the STi are both badass; just can't get past the looks though. My own personal preferences. Nice numbers; be nice with it on the street. And in DC, park it where you can see it. :-)

I think evo's get an extra 40whp just with an ecu flash for $400. We have interceptor-x, 10-15whp gain for $1600, and that's still towards redline. yikes!

If you really want that car just write on it the hp numbers all over the car that would get there attention

Where is the nice $30k interior with that ride? It is all motor and suspension, nothing else is nice about the EVO. At least the STI is pretty close to being worth the cost of one new.

That factory torque curve is very very flat too!, comparable to the 8's, maybe even flatter!!

That's the beauty of forced induction. Getting more power is fairly cheap. Naturally aspirated horsepower is expensive. That's a really nice power curve.

An ignorant post like this just makes me sad. The Evo is a purpose built performance car. And that's what I bought; performance not interior.
Maybe you only bought the rx8 because of interior?
I would rather choose the Evo over STI because of couple things,
1. Evo handles much better (especially with my MR blistein shocks and springs)
2. Evo is all out performance no tradeoff whatsoever

Obviously, you are not a performance oriented person. Go trade your car in for a lexus or something

I bought my car for it's all around characteristics. Notice how I said the STI was worth it's price of admission, the EVO is all motor and suspension in a $10k Lancer body. The car is overpriced by about $15k, but hey someone has to buy those cars. Hey, maybe Mitsu will get it right with number "X", if the company is around that long.

I think I just met the most ignorant person in the entire freakin world, universe whatever.

So, if a car is purposely built for race, then its not worth it's price of admission?
price of admission(wtf?),
the Evo is all motor and suspension in a 10k lancer body?
you sir obviously know NOTHING about Evos and its heritage.
Evo, along with skyline GTR, Rx-7, Siliva, Supra is a proven performance car.
Look at the history of Evo.
Overpriced? It can annihilate cars that are two, three times the price on the track.
I dont' think its overpriced at all.

The Evo and regular Lancer don't share a single body panel. You have no clue what you're talking about, to say the STI is worth it's price but the Evo is overpriced by 15k is idiotic.

I am ignorant because I don't think a $10k Lancer body with a souped up motor and AWD system is something special, sorry but they could have made the car worth the price by making it nicer. Thats the thing with the cars you named, they are performance cars that are built with quality, Mitsu has never understood quality, hell they might actually be the General Motors of Japan . Does it really matter anyway, from what I read in the past 6 months, Mitsu will be gone before too long anyway.

Maybe not the same body panels because of materials, but they all look the same except the bumpers and the big *** riced out wing. Oh sorry, should have gave it more credit, $10k overpriced.

Why, just because I don't like the EVO's one bit, and I am voicing my opinion on a RX-8 board. It would be one thing to go on the evolutionm.net board and talk **** to them, but I think it is allowed when they come into our backyard and feel that they must show off thier car and oh so impressive dyno sheet like some of us actually care. Hell there are EVO pictures in the RX-8 Show and Shine category, last time I checked it the two have zero in common.

Evo is the better car if you don't care about looks or interior or looking like your a 12 year old ricer boy. Of course you can't get an evo for under $25k...

Too many RX8 owners are insecure about every car that is faster. Someone mentions a Mustang.....hey that POS Ford is too heavy and sucks at auto-x. Someone mentions an EVO or STI......hey that ****** car is soooo ugly. Why can't RX8 owners feel secure about their purchase?? The RX8 is a great looking car with a very nice ride and decent performance. If Mazda wanted to make the RX8 the fastest car on the planet.....then they would built an entirely different car then what you currently see.......is that what you really want? If you were that interested in speed....why did you look at the RX8? An EVO or STI or Mustang are all in pretty much the same price catagory. Any one of us could have purchased any of these cars.......but we each made a decision. The EVO/STI people felt the sacrafice of looks and comfort for performance was acceptable. The RX8 people felt the sacrafice of straight-line speed for looks is acceptable. Can't we all just get along??

These two obviously have nothing in common, not even one panel. If you actually tell someone that and they're looking at both cars, do you think they're going to believe you? Come on now!
