AZ [CEL] Emissions AZ

Hello everyone,
my car failed the required emissions test.

I reside in AZ. MT 2004. 83k miles. I have a BHR resonated midpipe and an AEM cold air intake. I recently got a brand new battery (Red Optima 35). I also changed the coils, spark wires, and spark plugs since i got a new battery. (I had an engine misfire, and now its gone).

I went to AutoZone to get a CEL read. And these codes came up:
1) P0139 (I have had this issue since I installed the midpipe)
2) U0155 (I have NEVER encountered this before)
3) U0155 (not sure why this code came up twice)

so, I have a few questions.
1) Is it possible for my car to pass emissions with the BHR midpipe?
2) If i install a new oxygen sensor (O2S), will the code go away, or will it pop back up because of the BHR midpipe?
3) How do i fix U0155 ? My taillight fuse keeps blowing, the radio/AC loses connection like every 10 seconds. When it loses connection i cant turn up the volume, or change the station, and the little lights on the radio/AC turn off, and the AC shuts off. I have to press/push the whole radio/AC and then it works again, but it is kind of annoying having to do that every single time I drive.
4) most importantly, HOW do i pass emissions here in AZ ?

Sorry for all the info. I have done a lot of research but i cannot find anything.

Im assuming the midpipe is not the catted version? Without the CAT you will not pass inspection. However, you can use either a Cobb Accessport or Mazdaedit to block the code, allowing you to pass. However, the typical CAT related code is P0420, so your situation is a bit odd.

Thanks for the reply. And yeah I bought the catless midpipe from BHR.
But okay, so with the accessport i should be able to pass emissions because it blocks the code ? what code ? i honestly think i will never pass emissions.

I have to admit I dont know exactly what the laws are in AZ, but here in PA the inspector only has two things to check when doing an emissions test.

1. they plug into the OBDII port and scan for codes
2. they visually inspect the exhaust system to see if anything is missing, etc

The visual test is usually no problem, as the midpipe looks almost identical to the stock CAT. The code reading is where you will run into problems. After a few hundred miles it is very typical for a CEL to appear, the code usually being P0420 - which is an exhaust catalyst code. You can block this code from appearing altogether by using a Cobb or Mazdaedit. This way when the inspector plugs into the OBDII port, no codes show up so you pass the test. Some states have a 3rd test, which includes a sniffer test - where the tailpipe is hooked up to a bunch of sensors and reads the air quality (or something like that). Again, check your local laws - they should be clearly stated on the DMV's website.

Now, having said that, a reasonably smart mechanic will be able to smell that the car has no CAT in about 5 seconds. However, only 1 out of 4 shops I have taken my car to in the past 7 years mentioned it, and they still passed me.

Just keep the original cat in the closet, and when it is time to take it in for testing, reinstall it a couple days ahead of time, clear out the codes, and drive cycle it, then take the test.

After you pass, remove it, and put the cat back in the closet.

BC.

Thank you all for the replies, it is very useful information.
Since i don't have a P0420 code I'm gonna fix P0139 & U0155 which are the two codes that keep popping up. I will make sure my CEL goes away and then take it to emissions. if that doesn't work ill try the Cobb Accessport...
