Left: Stock amber 1157 bulb
Right: V-LEDs Switchback (Type 2)

Blinker mode:
Type 2: Amber-No Light.
Type 1: Amber-White

I found that type 2 would be better. For Type1 bulbs, The Amber light is not easily distinguished from the white light. Infact the Amber color seems to be not as bright as the white light.

Reverse Lights. Vleds (L) - Stock (R)

The left side feels brighter than the right side. It's a more clean light and easier to tell the difference from backup and stopping.

The view from the foot well.

Easiest to raise the front of the car so the wheel will be lower. This will give you better acess to pull down the plastic covering (after you take off the fasteners).

The HID Lights (Low Beams) are inside that grey "shell" that's visible in the center of the picture.

To change the parking light, you'll need to reach before it, and around the fender. Feel for the wire and follow it to the light.

Uninstall: It was easier for me to twist looking back towards the car, and using my hand that's near the car and twist the bulb out.
To install: You can twist it in place with your normal hand.

Left: Stock High Beams
Right: Luminics Titanium White H9 (12v)

You can change the high-beam lights from the under the hood - if you have small enough hands, or some grabby-tool thingy.

The low beams and parking lights need to be changed from under the car - behind the tire.

Stock 2009 RX-8 R3's HID Low Beam spread from 30 feet.

The stuff above the headlight are called "squirrel finders," used to illuminate signs. Not all projectors have this, and most recommend to keep this feature.

I'm thinking about doing a lens swap as I'm not happy with the clarity.

Bulbs are Philips 85122 (Genuine).
