Can can... but you guys can only enjoy these carrots if you vote me into power at the next GE. Ha ha... :mdrmed:

You will have to participate first. And when you are in power, make sure you make LTA allow more mods and get subsidies for car modding.

Or i pay economy and sit in the pilots seat...

sqflyer 05-10-2006 07:43 AM

Ermm... if you sit in pilot seat, I think everybody will disembark liao... Company sure lose money.

Since you been up there so many times, and you are such a high roller, then why don't you just take a gamble... drive your car there, park and don't lock the doors, come on man take a real gamble.

If you want first class tickets at economy prices from SQflyer ... of course can, Flyer will settle for you... next time he's due for his simulator session, he sell you a seat.. you even get to sit in the cockpit with him.

sqflyer 05-10-2006 04:05 PM

Ha ha... I got simulator session this Sunday, but gotta wake up before 5am... wanna join me. Few people actually realise what we have to go thru... sigh.

Thats why you get paid for it. And goes to show not any Tom's harry dick can handle it. I wish i had the time to learn to fly too.

Lohsk: This is one gamble that is either, you not win anything or lose something. But most prob i will drive up.

Emperor: I am not sure why you worry about driving your car to Genting so much? Worrying about the car being scratched is the last of my worries especially with the temptations at Mount Sin City -- gambling and all the overly friendly women there...

Remember the house usually wins. (97% of the time) So which is more likely to happen... your car getting scratched or the house winning? ;-)

sqflyer 05-11-2006 12:46 AM

I'm curious... house really win 97% of the time? I didn't know our odds of winning are only 3%. If that's the case, then I'm really breaking the odds by A LOT even though overall I'm just breaking even. Is this 97% published in any research/survey?

lowrider 05-11-2006 01:26 AM

Obviously I am not talking about football matches odds or horse racing odds here -- I am using the example of the slot machines; which if I am not mistaken, some are even set legally from 95% to 98% by the state (NV, NJ) gaming commission. The key to gambling is not that there are winners (-- thats good business for them to have... free advertising) but that people keep playing and pump wagers thru the system. They want you to stay as long as possible there... the odds will always favour them.

I read an article by some Math Prof in the States on this -- its just not possible to beat the house odds. YOU may beat it the first time but then you will come back and back. He proved the math with a formula which I didn't understand after a while. The odds stacked against you does vary from the types of games you play.

sqflyer 05-11-2006 02:07 AM

The odds are really stacked against you in slot machines because the payout is a lot higher relative to the amount you wager. I won USD250 on a nickle slot (5c) and never played slot machines ever since because I figured I've used up my quota of slot machine wins. :p: On the occasional times I do visit a casino, I stick to table games only. Much better odds but payout is usually 1 for 1.

Even if the odds against you are only 51% (usually higher), if you continuously visit a casino, over an unlimited iteration, you will still lose. But of course we can only visit a casino for a finite number of times in our lifetime, so you will still win sometimes and lose sometimes. Moral of the story, spend only what you can afford to lose for this form of "entertainment".

Agreed, table games esp barcarrat seems to be the best odd. However, we must treat any such losses as payment for the "entertainment". If one can walk out of a casino with break-even result --it is considered a WIN. Cheers! :) Uncle Tan

Baccarat and blackjack are the best bets. The house have only a small edge over the player. But over the long run, they will still make money.

Biggest sucker bet is the roulette. But my gambler buddy won RM$2000. He is really a lucky punter. And 9 out of 10 times we go to genting, he wins. He always bring just a little money and goes to genting to "withdraw"

jackpots machines may post a 97% payout. To the statistic-impaired; it seems as if you will win 97% of the time. But what it really means is that the house will pay back 97% of money. But guess what, most of it is locked in the JACKPOT or some similar feature. Most people will still lose money.

But i still like jackpot machines the best.
