Petrol Price watch

Someone sent me the URL to this website today. I guess with all the recent concern of oil and petrol prices going up, this will be a good site to check every once in awhile before we go pump petrol in Singapore.

http://www.petrolwatch.com.sg/index.php

Crude oil has reached US$70/barrel liao... This isn't good at all!! I sure hope they launch the hydrogen powered RX8 really soon. Do any bros here know of any device that helps our 8 save petrol, other than not driving the car and also driving it very tame? Heard that broquets and those magnets and similar stuff work for normal piston engines, I wonder if it does the same for our beloved rotary.

I'm really skeptical about these so called petrol saver thingy like broquets and magnets... I've the broquets before, dont think it work at all. I've yet to hear from someone who used it and says good things about these stuffs, except the guys that's trying to sell me and those testimonials in the leaflet that's written by 1 copy writer.

Having said that, Iv'e the Revi Intake, and it does improve my milage. Before, I use to run about 320-340km a tank, but now i can constantly hit close to 360km. Not a lot, but its a bonus that the intake does more than its fair share of works.

But i do really hope someone here can prove me wrong about these fuel saving gadgets...

I am using broquet on my lexus... rx300, 4wd, 3000cc v6. 55k km on the dial.... I got a in line broquet, the small one, and 4 B8s in the tank...

I am reaching my final quarter mark and it's almost at 420km. according to the trip computer I have another 137km till empty. That works out to be 570km for a full tank.

I am going to pump at the quarter tank mark to fill up and that will give me the number of liters. But from previous visits at the pump, quarter mark to full tank is 53 liters.

So... for about 53 liters my goal is 480km.... now that is for 95 octane.

Of course we won't see such results on the 8... So here is my plan for the 8

1) I am going to drop some B8s in the tank.... recommended 6 B8s. Being me.. I might do 7 to 8 B8s.
2) switch to 95.... and monitor.
3) Install an in line top fueler... and monitor again

Currently my 8 retards my ignition timing 3 to 4 degree at normal driving and at FOT at 18 to 19 degree.

I hope to see the ecu advance my ignition to 5 degree and above and FOT to above 20 degree.

My target is 400km for the 8, oh yes... I am driving a JDM auto.

If cannot reach 400km maybe go into plan B
4) Install "superior one" to lean mixture
5) Install a huge fuel magnet.
6) Send the car for servicing and change plugs and oils

If still cannot Plan C
7) Install E-manage ultimate tuned by RE

My fault.. sorry... I didn't clarify.... 400km at quarter tank mark. Why not achieving now is because I got my audio stuff and brace and heavy rims and my fat *** to haul around. Esp during rounding and trying to catchup with the 6MT, I use up the most petrol...

But Since I only fill up once a week sometimes in 2 weeks, I really should not complain too much.

Here's an interesting mod... it's called the "G-tech fall off the windscreen" mod. Only kicks in at 100km/h but after that, your car just takes off!!! 400m in 13.742 seconds and trap speed of 268km/h!! That's a speed increase of 168km/h in just over 5 seconds! And it doesn't stop there... it goes on to max out at a whopping 479km/h!!! Here's the screenshot to prove it too.

There's a down side to this method (pun intended) and that's called "terminal velocity" :D

If I could, I would... no cigarette lighter socket, can't calibrate the rpm, can't enter the weight,... tak boleh masuk.
