Sepang Lap Time

To all RX8 owners..... has anyone clocked any lap time yet at Sepang with our RX8 running on stock condition? Need to know the potential of RX8 6MT on stock conditions at Sepang. Myself only managed to clock 2.56s and I think it is very slow and probably it is me and not the car. Before doing any upgrading on the car I need to know what will be the best or close to best time with our RX8 in stock condition... yes including tyres and std suspensions.

Anything below 3 min for NA is really very respectable liao. But then again, I have also come across Vios (modded but NA) doing 3.03 also.

Thank you for the compliments. But I just felt very frustrated that our car can only catch up with the turbo cars in corners and braking point and after which ....no matter what I do (apply the accelerator much earlier than the opponent) I will still lose to the turbo car in corner exit all the time. Sigh .... At first I thought of running on semi slick but then again whats the point if I can never have enough power to overtake after all the hard work in catching up.....

Ah well maybe as I said ... is me not releasing the full potential of the RX8... therefore I need to seek some "guidance" from all members here.

Fren, nothing to be frustrated about, its 2 different classes of cars, so its normal to lose almost any TC cars coming out of corner and the straight.

Your timing is honestly not too bad for a stock 8, yours is stock right?

And for a track like Sepang, just with those few long straights, we are already at a disadvantage. Anyway, the whole point in my opinion is always to challenge myself not others, improving on your own timing is best.

Cheers

Still waiting to see the results of the Mazsports kit / Richard's Axial Flow supercharger before I commit to any FI mods.

Till then? Dont get frustrated bud - try and beat your own time for now till FI becomes more reliable for the 8.

Cheers,
Swerve

turbo VS NA... Theres no fight at all.

Wat we lose out on straights, we make up in cornering. In the first place u buy rx8, u oredi noe its not in the monster power car category.

This input I think Coupe07 will be the better person to ask. As he knows the specs better.

But I don't think at the moment, any of the 8s with final drive have gone down to Sepang for lap timing as yet.

I am driving a 4AT, for Sepang I have clocked about 3.06 when stock.

Thanks for the info ... let me save some money first before thinking of upgrading la ... after all once you start you cannot stop ..... LOL .... 3.06s for 4AT stock is impressive considering the engine has less power compare to the 6MT.

Cheers

Ah well lets welcome the best lap time of RX8 in Sepang here be in modded or stock. That way we can find out whats the best mod for our car ..... as sqfler says.... we need figures to prove the validity of the modification done to the car.... ha ha ha

CURRENT9, I`m soon to do a 3rotor Peripheral port in my Rx8 here in aus, if you want to wax those turbo cars with an N/A and be the king this would be a viable option for you. I might have a few packages on the go soon, all using Microtech ecu`s, custom REVS extractors, sump and mounts. You will be looking around 400+hp. If you are semi keen on this, you can mail me at info@revs-online.com for a chat!!!

2.56s to beat eh !!!... Myself only managed to clock 2.57.369s with transponder from the last traction circle even and the only mod I have to the car are whiteline swaybar front and back and running on AD07 too. Otherwise complete stock settings. Likewise wanting to know what are the proven mods that can improve on the lap time ..... meanwhile can only hope to "mod" myself to match the record time....
