cool! maybe I'll get another 8 in Philippines, but also having second thoughts bout the maintenance of a rotary engine there. I'm pretty sure no mechanic knows anything bout the wankel. Coz I was wondering where this velocity red came from that I saw in Glorietta and San Juan.

The RX-8 you saw in Glorietta/San Juan is driven by the top man of Mazda Philippines. The fellow drives the AT version. If that's what they're going to offer here I wont get it.

if thats the case of only AT transmissions are going to be offered. I'd rather buy the 350Z I saw in the showroom at Nissan Alabang or better yet an S2000.

The 350z's 3.1M and the S2K's not even offered unless you can manage to get a Honda dealer to bring it in.
If they do offer the AT version I may try my luck with a Honda dealer though I'm wary to get one as I'm guessing Honda will offer a newer design in 1-2 years time.
Til then I'm still happy with my Evo VIII

Hello guys!
I remember Honda bringing in 2 units of S2000 for an exhibit in Glorietta a few years back and sold them for like 2.5M (I think) but without warranty.
Pinoy, any idea how much Mazda PH is selling the RX-8 if they do accept orders? I'm kinda hesitant to get the 8 unless Mazda brings them in officially cuz I'm worried about servicing Rotary engines though.
Btw, I checked Mazda Greenhills last weekend to check the M3 and inquired about the RX8 at the same time but the sales reps there didnt have any idea about the RX8 at all.
Funny cuz when Mazda opened their first dealership in Quezon ave, many of their reps were telling me that the RX8 will be brought in "for under 2M peso".
Oh well, I guess lets hope that Mazda PH does well so they can consider bringing in the RX8 in the near future

1 SG$ is like 32 pesos so 2M pesos would be about...S$62,500
Car prices here are quite high but I think car prices over there are way too much!! :P

I double backed to Mazda Alabang when I saw this. I talked to the manager and she said availabilty is pending this year or the next. No price or transmission either. I'm hoping for a sub 2M RX-8 but my guestimate would be 2-2.25M for either a 5 speed or 6 speed manual.
