RX-8 Wanted by new arrival to Malaysia
Hi All,
I have just arrived in Malaysia from the UK (Scotland) and am interested in purchasing an RX-8 while I am here (will be here for 3 years working).
Since I am new to the Malaysian market and realise that I have to get these from an import dealer, I would appreciate some guidance.
First thing - I'm too old to be a boy racer (37!!) but old enough to be able to splash out on the car!! I am looking for a standard RX-8 but preferably one that would be UK spec (mainly as I cannot read the Japanese buttons or screen).
Won't tell you my budget, but needless to say I can afford one.
So standard car with all mod cons - Bose system, sat nav, etc etc etc you guys (and girls) know the deal.
Anyone that wants to help me, let me know (No commission!!). Preferably point me in the direction of a reputable dealer who can arrange Finance, Insurance etc.

Welcome. A member actually has a Euro spec I believe, that's bitbit. I'm sure soon enough he'll chime in with advise on this one. However most imported 8s are from Japan unfortunately, but there might be a Euro spec lying around somewhere. You can try the Motor Trader magazine, lots of importers advertise their cars in there. If I have any useful information, I'll be sure to let you know. Good luck.

Try any importer.... but NAZA...NAZA SUCKS BIG TIME, all they can do is talk. Even friends in there will become sharks. If you want NEW RX-8's i can certainly help, I have a friend whose shop has even more cars than NAZA, but because his a chinese he cannot advertise like NAZA does. his showroom for all this imported cars is in Ampang and his a importer for MG, Wald, etc etc. If you want I can pass on his contact to you. Or even better I can bring you there personally. Just drop me a message if you are interested or call me at 0192625888. Please be reminded, I dont gain anything from this other than helping out a friend. not even a single cent. But I could get you quite a bit of discount (Hopefully).

Thanks for the info and the kind offer. I may take you up on this soon.
I would really appreciate any info. on likely costs just in case I am way out on my figures. The ones I have seen have been recond (ie second hand imports) so I am going by those prices. If it goes over 200k RM then my interest will go fairly quickly.
Once I gather some more info I will let you know.

I am staying in Cyberjaya and will be starting work next week. Then I should have a handphone number to hand out.
