most people who own an 8 treat their 8 as a wife, gf or daughter(?). Unless you come up with some offer unresistable(indecent proposal style), I don't think they would part with their car and let a stranger drive.

Though you may be a safe driver, others around you on the road may not be. Moreover, it is not really a car that you can just hop in and get used to in a matter of minutes. We are not operating a car rental company, so there are also issues where you get traffic offences(some are by camera which comes days later) etc etc.

If you had been here long enough to make some friends, some might offer but you are still a complete stranger as yet.

Anyone considering renting out their 8s, please read the fine print on your insurance policy. I'm sure most of us have PRIVATE car insurance which does not cover commercial use of the vehicle, i.e. rental of the vehicle. If you do rent it out, please consider getting a temporary commercial insurance coverage for the duration of the rental period and factor in the cost of the insurance to protect your vehicle (and yourself in case someone sues YOU). I'm not 100% sure that regular car insurance companies provide such coverage, but doesn't hurt to check.

Why Rx8 for wedding? Didn't the wedding photo package u take include the a Merz, Jaugar, or .....
ANyway, pretty hard to get a RX8 owner to rent out their 8.
Well, dun u approach to 2nd Hand Car Dealers, since their car is not sold yet, they might want to rent it out

Segar, just outta curiosity (not that I'm considering), but have you driven an 8 before? If so, stick or auto? And why the interest in the 8 over other cars?

They do but different cost and I don't think they do it for short term. You may want to try and then terminate it by giving notice etc.. And problem with renting out the car would be in case of traffic offenses. If the person you rent out deny etc you are going to be in trouble as they is no official sign in out etc. From what i know, those self make kind of forms do not work.

There is of coz an alternative you can consider. Offer one of the folks here to be the driver instead and invite him to the wedding then give him a "big ang pow" for the effort. This way they won't be afraid that someone else drives their 8. One of the bros here also did it before by inviting the folks here to be his 8 convoy.

Just a suggestion.

Yeah...Manwe has it right. I would be more concerned with the driver getting a speeding ticket or the like than getting into an accident. So Segar, sorry mate, but dun think you'll get many takers with the current owners. One other thought, why not approach a PI and ask them for a 24hr test drive? Then you can do what you want My best to you in your upcoming marriage.
