Redline for AT

Redline for AT
Hi guys
A very silly question. Can I check, usually when u guys hit the redline, which gear r u engaged in? I am driving the 6AT and even at 3rd gear and 5500rpm, I am already at about 108km/h, which is abit too fast on the normal roads. I understand that have to hit redline about once a week to clear the carbon.
Thanks.

bro,
yours 6AT means u juz got yr ride? maybe 2 weeks?
i dun think it's advisable to whack yr ride so hard when yr engine haven't run
in yet.
anyway yr ride is so new, i am very sure there isn't any carbon at all to clear.
btw, when we do century sprint, we use 2nd gear to hit 100km.
enjoy yr ride!
ps : just curious, since yr ride is 6 port engine, yr tachometer until 9K or 10K?

Slow shifter? The Z would win.

Hi Bros
Thanks for the advice man. Actually my ride is coming to one month already. Got it on 15 Dec. Already done my run-in.
Simply8, u r absolutely right. It is really addictive (revving) once u start. I did not rev much until i completed running in the engine. But once i started....boy, do i want to do it everytime....really takes self control not to do so all the time man!!
BlackEight, thanks for the kind advice man. I have run-in the engine already. The tacho is until 9k. So century sprint is on 2nd gear? Ok. I will try that out.
Swerve76, wanted to join u guys actually but have already have prior committments. Will try to join u guys on ur next outing. Thanks for asking man! But the 6MT is definitely faster than the 6AT. No questions about that. Only question is how fast.

on a related note and talking abt apple to apple comparison, I am amazed by the performance of the 8 tested by stig vis-a-vis test-runs of other makes by the same person.

stock rx8 6MT euro spec and for the 350Z, I believe it's manual.

And you dun need to know how to heel and toe to launch mate, thats for cornering..
The 8 is a good handling car, but honestly no point spending large amount of money to FI the car to have minimal gains, and especially the Renisis is not meant for turbo charging still......still not without its problems for sure.
Want to beat a 350Z? Easy, either buy another 350Z, Evo or WRX. No point forcing something onto our baby which is never meant to be...

Same difference... Whether turbo-charging or super-charging, both are forced induction. The BEST we can do in straight line performance is match or juz win by a hair if we do a near perfect sprint. Any slip-up and the Z will be quicker. The 8's strengths is in it's handling, not straight line performance.

But after trying out the 350Z manual, I gotta say its a damn power car and should be able to beat our 6MT flat... Maybe their 0-100 not as fast as WRX/EVO, but 100-200 is damn impressive not to mention stability.

A few of us tried the other nite with a 350Z (Auto) for 0-100kmph just for fun.
Results as shown:
1. Rx8 4AT vs 350z - 350Z won by 8 car lengths.
2. Rx8 6MT vs 350z - 350Z won by 4-5 car lengths.
3. Rx8 6MT vs 350z - 350Z won by 2 car lengths. (Due to proper launching)
But what the heck, ours is cheaper and lower road tax and 2 extra seats, i have no complains.

No launch = no chance. Like I said, already tried before - 6MT requires proper launch to match the Z on 0-100 sprints. After that, the Z will start to pull away.
