I was up there a few days and truly enjoyed the drive along the winding road from airport to Balik Pulau. shiok man. gonna do round island next.

planning another trip somewhere this year........

That's the best part of driving in Penang! Lots of tight corners and nice elevation changes. Wish I can take the '8 with me when I visit Penang!

 

if you guys like winding roads, then i recommend Cameron Highlands!! the journey up is a every drifter's paradise! loads of winding roads and nice beautiful countryside landscape filled with tea plantation and greenary.

Wat a wonderful place to drive and test you precious 8 but beware of those lorries and when you overtaking them.

 

i think penang still better lah, cos can stop by the durian plantation and makan then continue for another 20mins to eat laksa and then you can choose which route to head back to town - both are just as good and then eat some more and relax by the beach for rojak in the evening.
one whole day round island plus makan . nice car, good drive, tasty food - what more can you ask for?

anyway looks like no penang kaki in this forum membership.

 

Cameron Highlands is definitely a contender because the temperature is nice and you can drive with the windows down. But for somebody living in Penang, the mountain roads are just 30 minutes away.

hey boonyloh, i'll take you up on that offer. at the moment i plan somewhere 3rd quarter of the year.
downshift, you got a good point - nice temp in cameron and with windows down, we could hear the renesis purring.
sometimes, in the middle of the night ( 3am ) i'll just take the car for a drive to nowhere for the fun of it. no speeding though as Singapore law very strict!

yeah, boonyloh is our rx8 representative! if you need to go penang, just give our buddy a call! as for KL, you can always give me a shout! in fact, a few weeks ago, i took the car up Genting, and found that 3rd gear was the most i went up to!
