Hey Guys,

RC was what got me started into the real thing, wow think that was like 24yrs ago........

Anyway, the RC technology have advanced as fast if not faster than our real big toys......

Well, if you guys are serious into RC Drifiting, the brand that started it all is Yokomo, and now lately Tamiya have come out with their own versions as well, in my opinion and experience, Yokomo is still the better buy.

Better be ready to fork out some cash as well, its not going to be cheap as it really isn't a toy as well, and most mod parts is almost 1/10 the price of the real stuff we spent on.

Head on down to Pacific Hobby at the basement of Sim Lim Square, and look for Andrew Chin. Good service and extremely helpful and price pretty reasonable.

Far East Plaza has one as well, HobbyLink, Sam Cheng, they are like the European car shop, most brands are of European origin. IF you the typehave the $$ and only brand contious, this is the place for u...........hehehe

Currently, to my knowledge, Drift RC only still available in electric, I think.....

Just for the stock kit, say by Yokomo, average controller, batteries and charger, will set u back about S$600+.

Then there will be added mods like higher torque brushless motors ranging from S$80+ to S$150+, high capacity batteries, tires...........trust me the list goes on and you dun wanna know.............hehehe

ha ha I understand ...... coz myself is playing the 1/10 nitro also ..... but was watching the drifting bit ...... thats it ... got hooked. But never play the electric car before therefore no clue or watsoever ...... so the better place will be sim lim instead of Hobbylink? If the price is more or less the same then I think I will go to Sam...... well just me .... unless quite a fair bit diff .. then have to go sim lim la ..... pls advise.....

Was at SLS today so decided to drop by the hobby shop at the basement level for a look. I guess Andrew wasn't there, but the old man there was really grumpy. Super BAD service attitude, not interested to sell, not interested to tell you anything more than what you ask. Finally, when I asked for a name card and got a "dun haf any more" brush-off, that was it and I stomped right out the door. That's the kind of service that deserves a bad post so they lose business and hopefully go bust!

Ok, glad I'm not the only giving the SLS basement shop a bad review. They will get their just desserts for their bad service.

Thanks for the info. Will check out Hobbylink the next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

Hi flyer, that's a bad experience for ya but well, I think that's Andrew dad [not sure le].. anyway if U wan to look for stuffs, can always go to Orchard Plaza's shop called Elite Racing.. look for winnie and say U are from sgdrifters [please register as a member @ www.sgdrifters.com -under forum].. sure can get good bargain.. alternatively, I bought my kit off the website.. basically I bought as a package and I think I got myself a good deal. [well, I did my homework around]... also hobbylink is more towards for Nitro racing.. Just went there last week, no much EP cars around also...
