The prodigal son returns...
Hi all!
I've spent 7 months away from this club now (other than one brief Kallang appearance ) and I am really glad to see that it is a much livelier place than it was when I left.
I'm kinda hoping that it would go back to the days when we had 30- 40 cars every week at meetups and Malaysia drives a plenty with track meets once in a while....but slowly lah I guess
Kudos to the new guys who have put in the time and effort to arrange meetups and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of ya too.
I'm not an old bird by any means nor very knowledgeble about our rides...but there aint any harm swapping stories and reviews about our mods right?
So watch out for a meetup post which I will be hosting soon. All are welcome to join us.
Let me say it here and now that there have been a lotta forum 'wars' in the past which contributed to the splitting up of the old group - but leave your handbags at the door for my meetup or dont turn up at all.
As oppossed to the last time when I chose to keep quiet and not say anything to those few bad eggs - I will not hesitate to tell you straight in the face in front of anyone if you get outta line again.
And I'd welcome anyone to say the same to me if I ever step out of line and you will find that I will quick to apologise and make amends.
We have a real chance of getting back to our glory days of having 30-40 cars running around again and I'm sure every single one of us on these forums does not want a repeat of any drama.
After all we are all adults and that kinda **** is not welcome here.
So pls may I humbly suggest that we all come with an open mind, a friendly smile, just be ourselves and have a great time. Pls dont be put off by what I've said above - I am just sick of all the unnecessary drama instigated primarily by a few people which brings down the mood of the entire group.
After all...life is tough enough with real worries and pressures like facing unreasonable bosses/clients, bills to pay, family commitments, etc. Why bring more drama to what is suppossed to be our weekend getaway from it all by hanging out and going on trips and doing what we love to do?
So thanks for listening everyone and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon!
Cheers,
Mervin

I'll be posting a meetup with the target being 2 - 3 weeks from now - lets hope more people can attend.
I really like the idea of using One George Street as a meetup point but I also miss the old Kallang days. So maybe we could do OGS first, go for dinner then convoy to Kallang as a start point for *possibly* rounding?
Also playing around with the idea of engaging Fullerton Hotel for a meetup high tea session (this was Jason's idea actually) with all our cars parked out front. As I have corporate contacts with them - I'll be happy to call them if there is enuff interest.
And we really need more people like you to help organise things! Me very lazy lol

Er track day ah? Wah that one very leh cheh man. The last time I did that I had to 'huan dao zui zui zui' to go collect money from people before the event lol.
The problem is unless we want a closed track day (well 1/2 day) - then got to get at least 20 - 25 cars. Very difficult. Always got people last minute pull out. I even had to go to all the other car forums to chio them join us.
So this time if wanna go I would suggest we do a shared track day or open track day.
Slowly plan first lor!

Anytime.. but must wait for us to come back first. A number of us will be in Japan for the Auto Salon and most won't be back until a few days after. Will have one at a meet soon to welcome all the new 2F2F candidates.

simi souped up? My one bone stock, rim oso dun haf, except for a MaxiCosi brand safety mod and 2 x birdshit splatters (on avg).
But not to worry, speed isn't the only thing to rounding. Drive only as fast as you're comfortable, since the 'k.n.n.k.p.-fast' speed is preferably only attempted with handling mods. Most important thing is to observe the rules for rounding, ie overtake on right, signal when lane change, give way to bros in a 'disadvantagous' position like stuck on turning lane, etc....no.1 rule = have fun!
Next time i follow u to keep you company (and to see if you really drive as conservatively as you claim!). I oso not a very good fast driver, as the bros who kena stuck behind me on e 29th can testify..
