Problems for 8

Hi,

My Silver 8 (4AT) is two weeks old.

I would like to know what are the usual problems of 8 after 3 years of usage?
Care to share?

1) Involuntary bowel movements past 85K RPMs...
2) You'll never look at a triangle the same way again...
3) Having to say "that's supposed to happen" a lot...

explaining why it is ridiculous to expect 1.3l 100hp Honda Fit fuel economy from a 1.3l 200+ hp rotary engine.

be prepared to hear this a lot....."isnt the fuel consumption very high?"....to save yourself the stress, just tell people you are very rich and petrol prices do not concern you.

Or you can say:
1) You've learned how to **** gasoline (91 Octane of course)
2) Rotary engines run on tap water

Just ingnore the quickly guzzling of the over priced gas theseday on your 8, and keep shifting in the the 6-7's and have fun playing.

Carefull though, your attitude of irratition to others impeding your forward progress, gets worse the longer you own the car.

;~)

Engine mount will start to give problems after 2 or 3 years... must change to reduce vibration... the rest of the car is pretty well-made... so just change the usual oil, tyres etc and you should be pretty ok!

Yeah... when u halt at a junction, look at your side mirror. Put your palms on your steering as well... A rough gauge will be changing of ur engine mount every 15-20k km. Youll feel the difference...

So the mount only last a year at a time. Oh gosh! I better overhaul or even swap a new engine every 2 years.

Worst car i ever owned. Worst car with parts that do not even last a warranty period.

It all depends on your luck, there are branded European cars that broke down out of no reason in the middle of the road, even when the owner sent in the car for regualr servicing with the agent.

My engine mounting is OK (car coming to 2 years old) and there are Rx8 with damage mounting just few weeks or mths after they collected their cars.

Nothings wrong with a Camry or Toyota's for that matter! It's like vanilla ice cream - doesnt go very wrong.

But an RX-8...is like chocolate and strawberry ice cream on a naked Miss Japan's body. You know it's not forever, you will have problems keeping her, but for the time you're licking it off, life is perfect.

When I switch on the engine, the LCD panel and the entire radio and aircon system never on? any kind soul, please enlighten me? My wedding is on the 4 DEC and my PI still have not replaced a new console for me since i got my car on the 11 Nov.

i think when it comes to a situation like this....you got to flex your muscles (no pun intended) and show them what you got.

I used to drive a camry. The old hyundai sonata too. I guess i qualify as a poor man. Its strikes me that a simple engine mount does not even last 1 year.
