Petrol

Petrol cost is on the rise..

Wanna ask around, what grade are you guys using? I'm currently feeding 98.

Thinking of using 95, will it affect performance or engine much?

any opinions?

Shouldn't hurt. I used lower and lower octane, until I was using just regular gas for the last four years. (your 93)

Never got any pinging or problems till I got the Racing Beat computer re-flash - then it would ping on anything but Super.

I work in a refinery, and have access to 120 octane fuels, but they do absolutely NOTHING for the Renesis.......

Give regular a try, lots of RX-7 owners never use anything else.

personally speaking I 've always used 98 and above (V-power) for me car as this was the recommended fuels to use by MM...

using to low a grade of fuel can cause damage to the apex seals of our engine which could lead to more problems and shorter life span of the engine...

For Singapore is already not ideal conditions to run rotary as our country is too hot so personally speaking i feel that already our car is working in temperatures it's not designed for so taking away one more burden of using lower grade fuel is best...

Juz me 2 cents...

Er..correction. MM rx8 can use 95octane. It is stated in the owner's manual and also, my SE told me so. hehe please ask me who my SE is.

I dont see how a low grade fuel can damage the apex seal. As long as you use 95octane and above..the car will run fine. The octane 95 and 98 is only a knock indicator being 98 of course will be more knock resistant. But our MM rx8 can use 95...using 98 wont serve any purpose except to burn a bigger hole in ur pocket.

P.S. Only MM rx8 can use 95. JDM must use 98. Remap rx8s also recommended to use 98.

Bro but there will be green rebate.

A lambo called for conversion for cng. And he could find him self 100000+ richer in green rebate. But must be fast cos think the gov will try to change the system soon.

Foe best performance, RON 96 and above. Can use RON 91 - 95 but with reduced performance. Singapore has RON 92 but the question is: Do you dare to try?
