Actually its not only aplicable to AT cars. It applies to all cars in fact.
long-term and frequent rpm driving can be quite damaging. (heard about this but never prove it myself as i never really owned cars for so long to prove it)
In most cars i drive, i get more power once i redline it. 1) ecu relearns my aggressivessness in reving and 2) the carbon is flushed out.
To prove it. Just park you car exhaust facing the wall and rev high. confirm got black spots on the wall.
But generally carbon buildup is quite slow but i am not so sure about the 8 though.

exactly. so maybe reserve the "cleansing" till we are in m'sia. :D
But its not exactly proven anyway.
To many variables affecting buildup so its hard to tell and its impossible to prevent.

Nowadays after discount, also must pay more than SGD100 plus for a full tank ... Gosh !!
