Newbie Question

Yo all, new to this forum and this ride and need some advice on making the best of my time on my 8. Pls gimme any opinion on the following questions:

1) Best place to get original parts for the 8. Dont want my car to look like some other cheap japanese sports car running on the road now. Sad to say, even some 8s I've seen.

2) Other then Mazda Motor, where to find a good and reliable place for servicing? On top of that, any specialised workshop to do up proper mods for the 8?

3) Anyone got problem with the authority regarding mods that might not fit into their stupid regulations?

4) Read about the meetup this Friday. Keen to go, but hope its not another stand around and gossip session like some of the clubs meetup I've been to.

Hope some kind hearted souls will enlighten me on these questions. Ta

Dono whats the practise, but i guess I'd just have a look at this Friday before making any suggestions. If Coupe07 is the retired PR, then who is the new PR? Then again, is this a active club that meets up regularly and organises meaningful activities. Looking forward to meeting all you guys, really.

Cheap Japs? erm, saw some recently near my office that has got a front bumper, i think its a veilside lookalike, that is really out of shape. the finishing was like the mould went thru a tsunami. The whole look was just off. But of course I've seen some nice ones with beautiful kits around. Was driving thru a MacDonalds' in West Coast and saw some really cool 8s in different colours parked side by side, with the same unique foglights. Wanted to wait and see if I can meet the drivers, but gave up after 1/2hr wait.

Dont need my 8 to look like a supercar, just not to cheapen this beauty. But then again, to each his own. I guess some will prefer practicality to beauty, some cosmetic to performance. I bought the 8 for its handling and looks.

1) MG is best place for original parts from Japan. Original USA parts can bought by urself thru the internet. From what I gather, there is no such thing as a cheap japanese sports car. There is only cheap korean sports car. Just because someone gets a replica kit does not make his car cheap. He still have to pay full price for the car and somemore for the kit. It all boils down to workmanship, imo. Anyway, I dun have bodykit. Lolx

2) Yea...MG is regularly patronise by us rx8 owners cause no one else is better equip to handle rx8 then MG and MM. They have all the necessary tools and gadgets needed such as fuel pump cap opener, compression test kit, diagnostic reader....etc

3) No one gt any problem cause we are law abiding. At least..I am.

4) At meetups, we gossip and laugh alot. Especially on topics that are brought up by newbies. Do do doo do doo

sounds like only mazda stock and mazdaspeed parts and bodykit are good, the rest of the japanese brand are cheap? or maybe you can elaborate more on this. if you mean replica parts and bodykit is cheap, that i will have to agree with u.

welcome abroad.
