The programming of a new set of key requires the presence of 2 set of keys.
For your case you might just hav to wait if Monster are able to find the solution from japan. As ur car is from PI, I doubt MM would want to assist you at all bcoz they hav already made it very clear abt not providing service to PI cars.

So in the mean time, keep ur finger crossed and hope tat Japan will inform monster the solution !

Maddie,

I asked my SE when i collected my car as I am a prone to losing stuff.. FYI, ive lost my wallet twice this year already.. hahaha...

Apparently, If i were to lose the retractable key, I would have to inform him and he'll do the rest (Liase with the distributor over in Japan).. will take about 1-2 months, each replacement is about 2-300 SGD.

Why dont u try asking your PI SE? They would have the records and s/no. of your key.. Hope this helps

PS: Meanwhile, use those cord to connect your key to your wallet.. those that primary school kids are using... but... murphy's law applies.. good luck!

If yours is the retractable one then some of the PI members have tried this before. they ordered the key from the US and brought it to a key cutter in singapore to have it cut. Then just follw the simple steps found in the US side forum and in less than 2 minutes its done.

bro, problem is he only left with 1 key. To program a new key, need at least 2 old keys...

to explain it more clearly. his has an immobilizer. thus the key's chip needs to be programmed and to program the chip you need 2 keys. Else you can't start the engine. the Remote(opening door/boot) is easily programmed.

The spare key actually comes with a metal tag with a code on it. I think its for duplicating a new key. I think the replacement would cost about $300.

Ya. how come no one thought of going to malaysia to get a replacement?

Bros in MY: Any idea how much it costs there?

Reason i asked is cos i was quoted 400+ by Hwa Keat at turf city. I told them MM charges 300+ only and they say MM cheaper cos MM subsidised price.

At these prices. The key qualifies as jewellery.

Bro when you have no choice you will pay and get it done....
Money can always earn back but if now u only left with 1 key, then you don't want to spend this amount to replace for a spare key... then in future if one day the only key which you using also lost then how perhaps this time have to pay even more to get another key man...

Not just that next time when i sell car how to explain say i only left with one key...
