Spray painting of calipers is courtesy of Monster Garage's in-house spraying expert and QC man, Mr Zavier Han.....

He says must give due credit to him, so must post up his name...

Looks good. Which model of Mazda are these brakes for?
These calipers should have been OEM for the RX-8!

I believe they are the rx7 efini brake calipers right? but i thot that the calipers are for a smaller diameter brake rotor then what the rx8 is using. tat means it will not be making use of the rotors fully...tio bo? like dat still effective?? share more info please.

can be used for our original rotors as well. brake piston is grabbing the rotors fully, as well as the brake pads. It all depends on how u modify the brake system.

Everything can use back stock rx8 items, except the pads. Brakes lines, rotors all can use back original. No need to downsize.

I dun sacrifice safety for looks one...... if cannot grab swee swee, i wun put on.

This 4Pot is lighter than the original single pot.

Weight of 4 pot - 3kg
Weight of stock single pot - 5kg

Unsprung weight saving.

Mazdaspeed stuff blue or matt silver mah? correct?

And blue looks unique. With all the brembos or "brembos?" red is quite common. And blue brakes looks quite good with your black car. black with red brakes quite a common combo already. Anyway this is what i like, dun aim me ah....

Your calipers make me drool....

blue brakes are so "endless"-ed...... gold are juz like grex and brembos (tink 350Z, STIs)....

so far my car combi is black n red (black becos of car body, red becos of of autoexe stuff), so i do not wan to deviate away from these few colours.......

Coupe07,

So you have the FD3S caliper with your Autoexe caliper and Autoexe pads for the FD3S?

So all you have to do is to make a brake bridge for the caliper?

Blue is endless. Quite like the colour especially. I think it will look good with my white.

White or silver are also very good looking.

looks awesome. but, let me just clear things up a bit.

both front and back brake calipers are from the FD3S RX7.
the only things you changed where the calipers, caliper brackets, pads, and brake lines.
the RX8 stock rotors will work.

how does the brakes perform? better than stock RX8 brakes? worse? can't tell a difference?

i've been seriously considering this, but haven't got the time to find out for myself.

front and back brake calipers? I'm lost, there's no back calipers......

1. brake lines - i am on autoexe steel braided lines with teflon coating all the while for RX8.
2. brake pads - yup, FD3S autoexe street brake pads
3. Brake calipers - FD3S later batches. The earlier batches have the same brake piston size and can accomodate smaller brake rotors only. The later batches have both brake pistons of different sizes and are slightly bigger. I'm still using the original rear RX8 calipers for my rear braking system.
4. brake rotors - Autoexe slotted brake rotors meant for RX8.

Performance wise - so far so good. It has to be better than the stock rx8 system, if not i will ditch this new mod. Like i said in my previous posting, i will not sacrifice performance/safety for looks.

the figures will not revealed unless its certified safe, workable and successful. Its now on trial period and its prototyped on my car. So far, personal feedback is good. But like all newly changed brake system, it will take a while to settle down and get the real biting.
