Mazda Australia stock a lot of stuff for RX8... If one branch dont have, they can get it from another branch.......

a few qs for lennon....
a simple test by removing the stock air filter from the stock air box and run your car from 1st to 3rd gear in full throttle and see if there is any kind of hesitation. Without the stock air filter in place, the stock intake system simulates a higher flow intake. If there is hesitation, any aftermarket high flow intake system will not work on your car, If there is not any hesitation and the car accelerates smoothly, you will see the promised HP gain after u install the aftermarket intake set..... do i have to do this b4 installing any new intake....btw...that intake u using?

 

2nd.... is it any diffrent if i get a new under pulley kit.... since they said it will free up a couple of hp..... and if do...do u know where i can get for the 2003 version?

 

3rd one..... if i bypass the Catalytic Converter (CAT) using the normal method (like what marcus did) does it will do any harm to the engine itself? or should i get a proper CAT bypass?

 

4th one.....

the ignition wires....can i install the perf ignition wires for the rx8 onto the factory spark plugs?

Actually the ecu will sense the changes in condition..... For instance, you change your air intake... The ecu wont know, but thru the air flow sensor and air fuel ratio, the ecu will changes the setting to allow your car to run smoothly....... The hesitation is cause by the hot air and direct air intake will get the biggest hit during idling..... But direct air intake gives better response in overall and roaring sound...... Most air intakes from Blitz, HKS and Apexi has a thin aluminium to deflect heat, but during idling hesitation still remain becos of hot air.....

When you accelerates, cold air will come into your engine bay, thus smoother acceleration. But hp doesnt gain easily..... To get more hp, you have to change exhaust and tuning....

My intake comes with my turbo kit, it's Greddy.....
