Yo frens,
I am looking to change the lightbulbs under my side mirrors... you know those lights that come on when u unlock you 8... I checked with a couple of workshop but they say they cant change.
Anyone knows whether they can be changed. I thkning of changing to blueish white...

These can be changed. Ive replaced mine with LED bulbs......

To replace em u have to tilt mirror to reveal bulb socket. Twist and pull out, then replace bulb..... Bulb is the same one as the rear license plate light bulb...

Here are some pics to give u an idea of how to do it.....

 

you can always pull the mirror out. It's held in by 3 clips, just gently pull straight out.

 

thks guys! so i just pull the mirror out? is there a catch or something situated behind the mirror, dun wan to damamge the mechanism.
I also thinkoking of changing the door lights, i can pull it out as well yah?

Pls don't assume it is as simple as pulling it out !

When you pull it out the wrong way, you will break the clips !

When any1 of the clip is damage, you are as good as havin to change new side mirrors.

Use a midget screwdriver to unhook the clips from inside, to do so 1st tilt your mirror to one end, loose those clips than follow by the other. This is the correct method where you dun risk breakin those clips !!!

I've taken my mirror off MANY times and never broken a clip.

pole light, wing mirror courtesy light, door light, cabin light, map light, glove box light, rear license plate num light, reverse light, brake light.

 

save e trouble bro....if u r in singapore, just drop into MG....they will fix it and any clip breaks.....Zavhan will come to ur rescue....ha ha ha

If your ride is from PI, I suggest your no plate bulb be coverted to led so that it looks like the Lexus type 'Pure White". Dun buy replacement LED coz PI's Rx8 only has one bulb so it is not bright enuff.

Mine done by Mutant Dave located @ Toa payoh. U can call him for an appt 90035540.

He installed a 'SUPER' Bright Led which can shine onto the floor type. He oso install a lot of diff other Led lites.

Went to MG to do the lights, they did a great job. i even changed the door lights and the small pole lights. alll nice and white now. cheap thrills for me
