ok... LTA guy called me. spoke to him for 1 hour trying to convince him RX8 is a nice bunch of people and I was calling on behalf of the club to clarify some stuff...

Sticker licence .... confirm illegal. That is their position. If die die must put... make sure the font is clear, large, non reflective, must face front and below 1 meter. The officer then told me it's up to the TP to enforce and began relating the story of how they impounded an evo for illegal racing and then subsequently added the sticker licence plate and illegal modification of the exhaust to his list of charges. If the TP want to get you... they will get you for everything. He then went on to tell me about the new camera TP is using to photograph cars from the front, So the licence plate must be visible from the front. So clear is the photo that it can see if you have your seat belt on or not and see who is driving.

Only special approval given to certain cars for sticker plates and our cars are not one of them.

Installing it on the side needs to have a proper bracket and all numbers must be visible when viewed from the front.

When I told him about sticking on the windscreen, he nearly got a fit....

ok... the next thing I discussed with the LTA officer was about the top offence that LTA has on their list....Toping the list, Lights.... HID, wipers led, neons, leds... everything... apparently some people have been complaining to LTA about lights being too bright so LTA are slowly clamping down....... needless to say leds under the car... another big fat no... why?... because it distracts the other motorists... What nut goes "Waaaa light under the car..." and crashes his car ? If one is disracted by lights, one should not be driving, light is not the problem, it's the driver... I told the officer it was more distracting driving thrugh Geylang than seeing a car with ground lighting. So any form of "decorative lights" is out...

Well I didnt complaint about HID, but me will be glad that LTA moves in to stop ppl from using these superbright HID lights.

Every corners of singapore are so very well lighted up, I really dont understand the ideas of having superbright HID for...? Its very BLINDING, I hate driving infront of one. I would normally drive to the next available lane to let them pass.... if their aims is to get pass motorist without blocking their ways, i guess it very much achieve their goals.

I dont even normally turn on my main head lamp, just the day and the fog lights most of the time, unless during heavy raining day.

Nope... Just don't get caught with it on... You see, leds under the car is a bit different to window tinting and illegal exhaust is that I can turn it off....

I used the example... neon on the celing is ok... neon on the wall is ok.... neon on the ground is distracting ???

Of course I was just pulling LTA's chain, but ultimately their conservative views governs us. So my led's will just have to stay off.... YEAH RIGHT...
