Hi Guys..

I'm new here and just got my new RX8. It's a 6 speed auto parallel model.
Just want to find out a few things...

1) I realised the Radio Freq is 10hz less than the actual frequencies.
eg. On the radio it's shown fm83.3 but in fact it's playing songs from fm93.3. Is this normal or is it something wrong with the radio?

2) I read that i need to check my engine oil frequently. So if i need to top up, which engine oil should i use? mineral or synthetic?

3) Since the shop provides me free labour servicing for 3 years at their workshop ( Gary Engineering ) , should i go there for servicing or should i go to any other workshop which u will recommend?

4) Is the first servicing supposed to be at 5000km? And what will they do on the first servicing?

5) Everytime i release the brake pedal, i heard a soft "thud" from the pedal. Is that normal or something is wrong?

1. nothing wrong with your radio. its the FM expander working. There's a couple of threads on this forum. just search for it.

2. Mineral please..... also many threads here, just do a keyword search

3. Well i guess its up to you but its more of the warranty that's the issue.

4. I think i let the experts answer that.

5. no idea. maybe ur hearing too sensitive?

1) It's normal as it is a JDM model. class 95 becomes class 85. No worry.

2) Yup cos rotary drinks engine oil. oil and oil filter change every 5000km. Need to top up about 1/4 to 1/2 of litres after 3000km to 4000km. synthetic engine specially for rotary engine. e.g. Royal purple, idemitsu, HKS rotary engine oil, trust F2 rotary, RE.

3) F*** the workshop as few workshop in Singapore knows about Rotary. So Warranty from the PI is like a piece of Toilet paper. After my first 3 'free' svcing with jackspeed, I never go back.

4) For the first svc (1000km) , they will just change engine oil (give your mineral oil) and oil filter and just some routine checks.

5) I will leave to the other experts in the forum to answer cos I'm not and I drive a 4AT.
