Bros,

For those who went up last time..... lets also start the ball rolling on how we can improve the logistics, convoying and actual events for the day.

Here are some:
Preparation-
1) Everycar should have a HP which has autoroam... so we will not be totally be cut off when we break off from the convoy.
2) Walkie talkie in every car recommended
3) Toolbox, basic tools and touchlight in every car recommended, just in case you break off from the convoy where the mechanic car is, and you need to do some very basic repairs or adjustments.
4)
5)

Convoying-
1) Stick together... esp in KL!!!
2)

Event-
1) All indemnity forms filled up before arriving in Sepang. This will save some administration time that morning. I can collect them and submit the forms on our behalf.
2) I will collect payment and make payment either through PayPal or Visa. I will also collect stickers/tags on that morning on behalf of all of us as well. So we don't have to Jam up the queue that morning.
3)

Accomodation(how was LeMeridian? should we go for a cheaper hotel this time?)-
1)
2)

To ReClubMalaysia:
It will be great if we can have our own queue for logistic and administration that morning since we are biggest group there

I've asked brian so i'll update accordingly. Should not be a problem i believe. I've got three confirmed and if Boony brings down the hustle from up north and the singaporean crew, we'll have about 20 cars. i dunno if we can break our previous record of 28cars but we sure can try

Don Juan has a point.
I would say that the phone and walkie are one of the most important things to bring up there.

Some pointers will be to plan the route ahead and where the rest stops will be. I felt that the signs over there were quite confusing. e.g. stop at yong peng - there were 2 yong peng exits before the rest stop.
Any suggestions would really help so please send in your ideas.

Another thing is to change the meetup place in singapore to a petrol station that is along the main road so that it is more prominent and easier to direct people who aren't familiar with the roads there.

-Remember to have your car pre-checked before headin up to prevent any sudden mishaps.

-Have abit of food prepacked (e.g sandwiches, biscuits, bread) or to have a heavy early breakfast/late supper cause the convoy (based on the last trip) set off at bout 3plus a.m. and there wont be any food that you can purchase along the way cause its in the wee hours of the morning and once you reach the track there is only enough time to pump petrol before heading in to get registered and attend the safety briefing.

p.s. just voicing my opinions, hope no one was offended. cheers

Few experiences from last trip and some suggestion for next trip...

I must agree with Don & sgrenesis... Either walkie or auto-roam phone can save your time & you from troubles.. both would be nice.. Looks like Motorola Walkies are standard .. Those who are intending to buy... buy Moto's and better get long range one.... I bought cheap cheap whatever non-branded one, and it couldn't tune into Moto channel & somehow cannot transmit..

Since the session starts 9am... and this time is full day tracking.. May I suggest to have an option to stay near circuit day before and after? Like leaving Singapore around 7-8 pm on Fri, get to Hotel around 12+... be at circuit like 8am so you can enjoy full day tracking... after tracking, we can have drinking or whatever session with Malaysia & Singapore crew... To cator with everybody's schedule, we may have to break up with few groups, like 1) day trip group, leave on Sat 2-3 am & come back on Sat night.. 2) 1N2D group, leave on Fri 7p-8p, stay near KL, then come back on Sat night.. 3) 2N3D group leave on Fri 7p-8p then come back on Sun afternoon...

It would be nice to have all schedule printed & passed to all members.. including Hotel Address / Phone, Emergency contact, Member's Name & PH number (For those who don't mind sharing), Map... Last time two members & myself got lost in KL for 3-4 hours just to find Hotel... I don't want it to happen to anybody again..

Maybe better stay little bit outside of KL this time?? It'll be very difficult to have convoy in a city... or all the route from Sepang to KL Hotel is planned already so that in case of break up don't need to wait for others.. I find that waiting for others on roadside sometime dangerous & cause more trafic jam in KL....

It would be better to get to track & petrol pumped up & all the registration all done 30min - 1hr before the session starts... last trip was super rush for me and everybody I believe..... We had to get everything ready for track in 3 min once get to pit... no time for anything...

Anyways... we got few more weeks before the trip so let's make the next trip better & fun!!

REclubMalaysia - Sorry that we coulnd't join the meet up after the track last time.. most of us are all exhausted from long trip & exciting track session + few unexpected "accidents" on the way to Hotel... but next trip let's have a meeting outside of track!

Yo DonJuan... pls keep me updated too. Finally a track day that I'll be available, I've got a few days off exactly on that weekend! Heck, I'm game for the 3D2N too if there are people up for it.

Was talking to sgrenesis and wondering if it's going to be organised the same way like the last track event where the Rotaries are grouped together and can only run on the track when it's our group's turn? Like that not very flexible leh, cannot "own time own target". Heard that even when it's our turn to use the track, still got other cars from other groups still lingering around on the track a few extra laps. Then what's the point of the grouping?

bro...without grouping u'll definately have a jam on track...if everyone own time own target the track would be like any normal sunday track day...cars every where

I understand, but what good is grouping if it is not enforced. From what I heard, there are still people from other groups running around the track when it's not their group's turn to run. True?
