SGFlyer: I suspect Kelvin was referring to an external unit. But can't it work hen plugged into the Aux section. Anyway, I will wait a coupel of days to see whats required. Its amazing that something like this seems so complex to install. Wonder what the Mazda engineers were thinking -- they need to get out of the office more often and realise that mp3s are a huge thing with their consumers/customers.

Mine is in-build 6 CD changer, no problem with Audiolink. External CD Changer use the same connection as Audiolink, hence not able to have both unless you have a switch in between.
Be fare to Mazda, all audio sets are OEM, they should design some kind of standard interface to link either AUX, TAPE, EX-CD.....so on.

Apparently if you got a 6 disc changer, the MP3 Audilink connectivity doesn't work. He had someone come in with this an hour ago and tried to install it but was told to go back to his audio shop to remove the 6disc changer first before triyng the MP3 player connection again. It takes 1 1/2hrs.

I will call him in a few days time to see if a solution has been found.

Actually i was the guy at Car Beau today, was really looking forward to get my Ipod hooked up to the head unit but had to go back disappointed. Anyway, my car has both the front loading 6 disc and another 6 disk changer in my boot (dun ask me why i need them both cuz i myself was suprised when i collected my car, as both came stock).

The audilink was connected to the input for the rear disk changer but it doesn't seem to work.

Even you disconnect the external 6 disc CD changer, the audiolink still not working? That strange.

Have you check the vesion of your HU? (by press and hold the "Text" and "1" buttons) Audiolink can't support lower than 9.55.

I got the Audiolink thru online and fixed it myself. I didn't disconnect the HU main connector and the Audiolink didn't work at first. Only after I disconnected the main connector, it sorta resetted the HU and the Audiolink worked. Hope this helps.

The small control box hide behind the HU. I pull the connector to the grove box temp, so that bthe iPOD could put inside.
Looking for a good looking holder, so that could put the iPOD out, bet the grove box and HU, so that is reachable.

i got the audiolink installed at car beauty, pretty quick and smooth install. I was just wondering whether it is ok to leave my ipod plugged in all the time. It seems to be charging even when the engine is off, will the ipod be "overcharged"?

Wanna ask you guys who installed the audiolink, I heard that the controls on the steering wheel are a bit retarded, as in it takes a while before the iPod responds to your command inputs. Is that true?

I already have my iPod connected by audio cable to pre-amp and airclick so adding the audiolink is not going to give me anything more than just steering wheel control. I'm considering the audiolink just in case I might wanna use the audio input on the pre-amp to hook up my PC audio. Thanks for the info.
