ya, think bridgestone, falken, yokohama have some good reasonable rubbers ba.

after the track day... i think i'll stick with continental sportcontact2 reasonable wear with a lot of gripping power :ylsuper:

CoupeM 04-09-2006 08:00 PM

bridgestone tires are very expensive. Think yoko are quite alright for the rpice u pay.

It was fun....let's do it again. :) Hope to get more laps the next time round. Dunno why everytime I go out...kena red flag after 2 laps.

CoupeM 04-09-2006 08:08 PM

steph post up the pics u took leh.

boonyloh 04-09-2006 08:10 PM

haha....i think most of us had the same thing ;) however...my instructor ask me to just drive and forget about the red flag lol.... i actually had the whole track to myself for an extra lap :P except for the R3 proton track cars which in anyway i couldn't keep up even on straights and corners... don't know what were they running under those hoods

CoupeM 04-09-2006 08:22 PM

Waa...your instructor garang leh. Mine all keep emphasizing "see red flag, must pit"

boonyloh 04-09-2006 08:39 PM

what everyone's suspension setting like?? i'm interested to find out....

CoupeM 04-09-2006 08:42 PM

I using stock suspension and have not pushed car to limit yet. I did do abit of camber adjustment with quite abit of toe-in at the rear.

boonyloh 04-09-2006 08:55 PM

what about your tyre width? 225/18 all around?

4-TOOTH 04-09-2006 10:26 PM

Absolutely stock setting from tyres down to the camber and everything else. NOthing change from the factory defaulted setting except a whiteline swaybar and this thing works wonder to reduce body roll of our car.

DKC_Kaz 04-09-2006 10:52 PM

Dear all!

First of all, on behalf of Calvin, I'd like to thank everybody who joined & supported the event and also Dave from Malaysia RE Clud.. There were lots of happenings inside & specially outside of the track, but hope everybody had great time!! Hoping to have another one near future.. meanwhile, to have better session next time, please let us know any comment / suggestion / complains etc etc if you have one...

BTW, those who took pictures on that day, and don't mind posting on our web site, www.dkc.com.sg, please send to kaz@dkc.com.sg..

Thank you again and see you guys again soon!

Kaz

Im guessin they are running those R3 modified Campro..like the one iread before..1.6litres 200hp++ engine.

wah macam B16c ..not bad R3 keep it up!

for that sg 8 got vacuum leak.nice knowing you.
same goes to all the 8's that came from sg and anywhere in malaysia ^^.Thanks for participating.

I love Boony's rims! they're the bomb..bling-bling factor 10/10
so is a black rx8 with prodrive rims..also cekapppp

but em..i was wondering..why all our 8 sound so .. "soft".
even that gReedy'ed 8 also a bit "soft",so does wood's HKS Legamax'ed car.Doesnt live up to expectation.

heck, even those Alfa 156's sound better on track, any reasonable explaination why our exhaust notes arent so good?

i remember you ;)

anyone clocked thier laps?

CoupeM 04-10-2006 01:45 AM

mistake....is 235 265 not 245. camber for front was -1.15 degrees, total front toe was 1.5mm. rear camber was -2.2 degrees and total rear toe was 5mm. Not too bad. Basically the camber was opened as wide as possible. I din really whack the car thru corners so cant say if it was good or not. Was trying to get the lines right first.

All I can say is....AD07 is very good. ;)

I dunno is it me or otherwise but I personally feel that most of the alfas drivers are quite dao. Not just yesterday but the few times I have seen them on the roads, at events...etc.

Hope this wont start a flaming war. :P

boonyloh 04-10-2006 01:50 AM

hahaha....

there was one infront of me on track.... he wouldn't move to the side....and always trying to brake late into corners..... from behind it was more like jam braking with lots of tyre lock....lol

I apologise to all that I was not able to make it for the trip.... I am sick since Thurday and I am still on Medical leave at the moment. And I apologise for any hiccups that may have occured like the convoy up, registrations etc etc.... It was a trip I had very eagerly looked forward to, esp to learn from the instructors there...., and to have fun with you guys. Well, guess I will have to look forward to the next event :)

Even tho I was resting in SG, my heart was in Malaysia..... I was worried and hope everything will turn out fine.... I am glad that so far... there are all the positive feedbacks and the event turned out to be enjoyable.

Well, guys... share with us your stories on the track..... and with pics....... then at least we can have a sense of wat fun you all had. Anyone took pics with the instructors, malaysia Rx8s - Rx7s etc etc?? Keep the photos flowing in!!

And do leave your comments and feedback.... It would be great to know how we can improve the future event for all of us..

Same same here ... one 156 was in front of me and I must say they dun really give chance... but hey ... that how driving at track is all about... must be aggresive yet safe.... after tailing him for a while I realise our straight line speed is about the same on our 6MT stock RX8 but cornering speed is where our car shines ... be it entry and exit speed. In fact I am not sure if it is a 2.0 or 3.0 lit car though. But I dun think they are really dao la ..... the 156 in front after realising he was blocking my car he actually gave way to me to pass at bend 7. No fire here ... just a friendly practising on track and improve ourself.....
