Hi Dolly,
For chrome wheels, unless its of premium quality chroming from the US or Germany, all other countries is best to avoid.
Detioration usually occurs like oxidation due to poor and lack of regular maintenance of using a polish on the wheels. As well if you get curb rash on the wheels, poor quality chroming will lead to flaking of the elctro-plating on the wheels which spreads easily.
So just some advise, unless the person is ready to put in time and effort to constantly upkeep the set of chrome wheels, if not better avoid putting such wheels on. Unless have the alot of $$$ to get high quality ones.

The 2nd set are my rims!! It's a RAYS United Arrows rim. I run on 18"s that I got from LS (which is probably where you took the pic right?). Also bling but cannot fight the blingier ones I saw on some 8s. They know who they are. Not as light as the track rims, but "look fierce, sound fast, people will scared ah"...
Hope the above helps.

But somehow just can't get the racing hart off the back of my mind. (black with RIVETS!!) I guess most impt thing for me is that I'm not getting ripped off. I don't mind if the quality and satisfaction I get matches up to its price.
That said, my next bet would be chromish rims, though now like derekwcw has brought up.. it may be difficult to maintain, and it'd be a blatant lie and some pretty serious self denial to say that I will be able to.
Yup. I took those pics from LS. How much did your rims set you back by?

I bump into them every other day... think their quota rocket up high when they commited on their purchases with Motor Image new fleet.... guess the person behind the scene has given the order
'Boys and Gals, now that we have spend so much on our new fleet, its time to make it back....'
Lowrider, I think my current rims are lighter than my stock 16" rims. The current ones weigh about 7kg or lese per piece.. same driving style (if there is one), same destinations and traffic patterns... from 7.2km/l to 8.1 - 8.3 km/l.
Time for you to get a set of light weight shoes..

I'm currently looking at the racing hart cxr (i like black rims with rivets, and my second choice would be chrome rims) and was quoted $4650 for the rims + some eagle f1 tyres which the shop guy recommended. ($850 per rim) which makes it $1250 for the tyres. Have I been over-quoted?
Which tyres would be most recommended for a driver who doesn't really drive hard?
Thanks in advance.

As spoken to you on Fri nite girl, white ride will look good with white rims, and/or racing gold ones. gun metal rims are also pretty decent, only thing is that they have that 'dirty' look, which will contradict the pure whiteness of your ride.
i honestly do not advise you to get Eagle F1. (not sure whether you have or not, because i just got into the office readin this!) AD07 is preferred worldwide and if you have the budget, go Toyos or S02/3s Potenzas.
for us low budget car freaks, i'll stick to my eccentricity of Falken ST-115s and/or RTs because of the reliability of the dry condition grip, and the wonderfulness of able to slide on wet with em.
or ya can go for those RE Amemiya rims i was tellin ya abt......

HEARSAY u putting on GT wing...... but this rims do not suit car with GT wing, seriously....... These rims sway towards the designer look, which IMO, do not suit GT wing....
