Congrates Fab 8,

Who did you book the Type S from?

What's the Price and what other accessories does it come with??

Is things like the 18" tyres, suuroof, bose 6 disc sound system come stardard in your package?

Cheers

Thanks! Can hardly wait for the car to get here!

Booked mine from Garage R. $123k without COE. Estimated OMV abt $43k to $45k.

Standard equipment includes the 18" rims, factory fitted leather, and they are throwing in the 6 cd changer. Sunroof, side curtain airbags are options. Sunroof was not recommended cos we wld end up paying almost $5k more due to taxes...

oooh, $123k plus COE base on the recent bid should be around $28k that would be a total of $151k! I was hoping the price could stay below $143.

The CD changer that comes factory fitted is the in-dash type, is that what your dealer is gonna throw into your package?

Well, some grey importers are quoting abt $142k incl COE. I spoke to a number of them, some were frank enough to tell me that leather, stereo, aircon, power windows will be locally fitted etc. This will bring the OMV down and lower the price, I guess.

But you gotta be careful with the pricing - I don't think any of them can guarantee the price as the car is not in yet, so the OMV is still an unknown. I have heard of people being asked to top up $$ for their STi, due to the higher than expected OMV...

Garage R is bringing in 5 cars, black, red, blue, titanium and yellow. The yellow is for stock purposes, and will be available for viewing.

Where does the 1.3 liter rotary fall for the pruposes of the COE? Is it treated as a 2.6 instead?

I bought the car through a parallel importer, so they have to use a Cat E COE.

But the road tax will be for a 1.3 litre car! :D :D

This is like a quarter of what I'm currently paying for my Golf VR6! :D :D

Spoke to couples of PI, can't remeber which one in particular said that they would have the car in by mid June. Can't wait to see the 8 in flesh.

Any idea what's the insurance is gonna be yet? Would the 8 considered as a coupe or 4 doors?

Insurance premiums may be in the region of $1,500+ (after a 50% NCB)...not confirmed yet.

Yeah, some PIs have mentioned a mid June delivery, but not sure if this will happen. Actually, I hope thats true, so they can get the LTA approvals done first...so my car won't be held up in delivery :D

$1500 and $1123 all after 50% NCB are all pretty high premiums

I thought the 4 doors and 1.3l engine could be a escape claus to a lower premiums.

Insurance companies are more thorough nowadays. They asked for the specs of the car, and when they saw the styling and the power output, they knew that this ain't no ordinary 1.3 4 door car :D But UG's quote is pretty good, considering that some insurance company is charging $1,500 (b4 NCB) for Honda Civics.
