As u all can see i'm very new in the forum. I really hope that u guys can help me out with my problem.

I'm looking at getting a rx8 mazdaspeed version 1 (04). So far i have view two of them. i found out that one of the car was tuned and mod by the dealers so that it look exactly like the factory manufactured one.

So my question is, how can i know that the other one that i'm looking at is an original one since is only limited to 300 units, i'm sure there's a way.

i have check on the parts of the car..and it has all the parts and mod of a version 1. i also have the chassis number. But there's no paper that can verify that is an original one.

i'm located in Malaysia..

i did check on all that...it has most of the things which a version 1 suppose to have...such as the strut bars, the suspension, the exhaust and a few more things have been changed and they did use mazdaspeed parts...

but the interiors are not carbon fibre like u suggest...

any other ways that u know of?

there is 2 version of mazdaspeed rx8 produced, version one and two. version 2 are the famous purple colour mazdaspeed bodykit-ed rx8. version 1 is a bit hard to recognise only 300 is produced, i think dealer mix them up with it A-Spec rx8.

here is the 10 things in version 1:
1. mazdaspeed suspension
2. 2nd oil cooler
3. Mazdaspeed Stabilizer bar front & back
4. mazdaspeed brake pad
5. better radiator (not much detail on this)
6. Mazdaspeed swaybar, silver colour
7. mazdaspeed bodykit
8. mazdaspeed rims
9. mazdaspeed seats
10. carbon pillar

not very sure about the whole list above cause i got it from a magazine ad. they say 300 units and show all these photos of parts.

i did do some homework myself too..and managed the get infos similiar to yours..but is there a way tat i can check with the chassis number of the car. Can they tell from that whether wat spec the car was build on..?

the thing is tat even with all the parts fitted on the car...it cant be 100% genuine..cause there's no document stating so.. they could have jus bought those parts themselves and fix it on the car...and sell it at the price of the version 1. And this was done before...

any other alternatives?

i don't think so. i am not sure about the rx8, but like the mugen civic there are a plate stating 1/90 means number 1 of 90 units.

all the dealers tell my friend who buy rx8 with bodykit is version 1, and its all bull.

 

wondering how much 04 version are selling? if price is too much higher than normal 04, then i suggest get normal one and mod yourself, than u can choose bodykit, rims, performance parts, accessories etc that you like, becoz mazdaspeed bodykit are everywhere, replica also not hard to find.

combo8 i totally agree with u. here in sabah, mazdaspeed more than normal one.

 

same thing happen in KL also, and most of the recond car that car dealer selling now are with mazdaspeed kit also. stock 8 would be harder for them to sell out.

I do have the chassis number for it...and i did managed to confirm it as a 04 model. But is there someone that i can check with by using the chassis number? Mazda themselves?

Any idea on who specifically to talk to? contact numbers?
