saw a rx-8 manual doing dyno @ st-power!!!!!
the 210 version
on crank only 160hp & 170Nm at the crank, mazda cheat u all 50hp!
wtf 160 to wheel only left how much!?
110-120?
some more so heavy also.

The Dyno figures from ST Power is at the wheels right? How to dyno at the crank? remove the engine har? 210 BHP from Madza figure is engine output, so after losses in the transmission and other stuff should be around 160bhp at wheels wat. So itz correct.

No one buys the rx8 for straight line speed or tremendous horsepower. U wan 400hp beast, get the wrx and evos.
Letting many cars eat on the road, most of the time, its the driver, dun blame the car.

each car has its own plus and minus.
there's no need to get angry over anything from anyone else's comments...
RX8 is a great car like many others and each has its own unique features.

like i said, each car was built for its certain purpose. for every car made today, tmrw there will be a more powerful car... it goes on... instead of comparing, look at the achievment of wat these cars are built for... its great to learn wat each car has achieved and learning to appreciate it is a given talent also...

Guys, please don't be too blinded by the controversial statement made by hengheng. Be more objective and thank him for the discovery, if it's true. Why don't you guys try to find out whether what he claimed is true before airing your frustrations.
In any case his comment may be flawed as the RX8 that underwent dyno-tuning may be out of tune or poorly maintained. The dynamometer could be wrongly calibrated as some operators assume an ambient condition, that is seldom monitored by most workshop (I've yet to know of a professional shop who does that apart from Ruf workshop in Tuas).
I remember some years ago the Mitsubishi Lancer MR was found to have its engine power grossly overstated. So it's possible that the same may apply to your beloved RX8. If so, you guys may instead of venting your angers cool down and group together to find a recourse (not discounting through legal channel).
I know you guys love your rides for its unique design and you guys are absolutely right. Still it's good to know the truth. One thing for sure, I intend to buy a RX8 and my reason for choosing it is not for its power. So, I think guys like hengheng, who thinks just of power are not qualified to own RX's, immho.
