Hazardous Roads In Singapore

After reading about WootWoot n Genesis momentarily losing their tails along the exit at Bayshore Road, off the ECP, I thought I better highlight this to all brudders out there who use this exit often. My bedroom window is facing this particular exit and I have seen accidents happen here on many occasions esp when the road is wet. The barrier has been replaced almost on a fortnightly basis since I moved here in March and the accidents are not stopping at all. These pics were taken at the very spot last month when i happened to be strolling in my compund. So guys, do watch out alright!

Used to it oredi! just try to keep left when u guys r using this exit at the part just b4 the turn ends cos the right hand side of the bend is quite a "slick" surface on rainy days although most ppl would usually keep right when doing a left hander. Anyway, remember, SLOW DOWN when its wet and u will be ok.

Interesting Dru....that taxi must have experienced a bad case of understeer or as you said, was on the right coming off the bend, hit the slick area and then lost control and veered left up over the rail. Hey, when it's wet, I never take that corner hard no matter how much faith I have in the Potenza's grip.

The exit was repaved some time ago....before, the water runoff vents were totally exposed! One time coming home in a cab, the driver was too far left and smashed into the vents, causing a flat! He was lucky tho, could have been worse (maybe lucky for me too!).

What I experience taking that corner at high speed in my 8 is oversteer....yet if the right side is slick then I'll be extra careful...thanks for the heads up

Hey bro,

Don't have too much faith in the stock potenza. It isn't the most grippy of all tires. I have felt it slipped a few times when I am going faster at muti-storeys and very very often when it rains on normal roads.

In case anything should happen, touch wood, I'll suggest you step on brake hard and steer.... that should kick in the DSC into responding sharply and help you steer out of trouble. Provided it works.... I wouldn't wanna test it though....

Anyone remember the old Bridgestone S02 tyres? Super duper on wet.
Think there is a S02A now. Anyone tried these new tyres?

Problem is S03 cannot track. Friend's 03's literally shred after 2 rounds in PG. Need to get something stronger, maybe the 07's. Bro Neon, wat tyres u track with??

S03 is abt the same as the stock for the grip and definitely harder(thus shed less than stock). It will have reasonable good grip for rainy days. If you wanna stay with potenza, I think S03 is the best choice even if you have to track. I had read that ppl go track on S03 without much shredding. What did your friend do? Could be driving style instead?

Wonder what mazdaspeed use for their competitions....any clue?

Me bad. Post wrong info. Wasn't thinking. The tyre that shredded was RE050 not S03. For Potenza, safer to stick to RE070 for tracking.

It will sense that you brake hard and try to do turn. It would actually help to control slip and thus you can turn. You will not be able to turn sharper with DSC though....

If you think that you are always understeering then maybe you can try turning the DSC off.

Talking abt DSC, is there a way to make it start with DSC off as default? Kinda tired of turning it off each time I start the car....
