Guages and Meters

I'm buying some Meters and Guages.

Initially I wanted 3 guages. Water Temp. Oil Temp and Oil Presure.

But saw the Knights sports Gauge pod and it can only hold 2 gauge.

So was wondering can I do away with the Oil Pressure? cos our car already has a Oil pressure gauge and furthur more the reading always stays at around the same value. so if theres a drop in the car oil pressure meter. I would be able to know right? so theres not need for an alternate Oil pressure gauge?

Can any guys please advice me on that

Thanks
Morgan Oh

The stock oil pressure has a pretty wide range--from 10psi at idle to 80psi at higher RPMs. As others have commented the stock gauge is basically an idiot light that stays in the middle as long as there's any pressure at all. 10 psi may be fine for idle but you're in trouble if it doesn't go up under load.

I went with SPA Design dual digital gauges. See the fourth picture down for additional info. http://www.hi-impact.org/ryang/modif...x8_custom.html

The "Oil Pressure" meter display on our RX8 is an idiot. CMI.
Get the 3 guage (Water Temp, Oil Temp & Pressure)
Dunit the guage pod, just place it on the dashboard using the stand that comes with it (save $$), just like me :p and I got all the six defi guages :D

he has too many jobs on hand. can't ask him to push away the business just to make this pod for me..

If I could find it in the market readly , I would just buy it n no need to wait and trouble him.

I believe that u would have to cut the front dashboard in order to install the Fujita pod.

I'm looking at something that need not do any alteration / cuting into the car parts. Just a stick on pod would be best.

It's a stick on bro, have a closer look at the pic. I'm not sure how they handle the cables tho....

That's true Siesta...52mm was the norm, however I heard that 60mm is now compatible with the fujita gauge pod....I'll get a confirmation and revert.

Genesis, I believe the Fujita gauge pod requires cutting the top cover. We already have a couple of guys that got this exact Fujita gauge pod and they had to cut theirs. It's 52mm and I don't see how it can be compatible with 60mm gauges looking at how fitting the 52mm gauges sit in that picture. I'd be interested if they have a new model that can hold 60mm gauges. Please check.

yup, unfortunately the feed gauge pod(unless they made a new on) requires cutting the top cover to run the wires and fits perfectly for the 52mm gauges only. Unless maybe you cut ahole on the pod itself and run the wires outside but it'll prob look messy. Sacrifice for looks? :D

Can you make the 52mm Defi meters in red rather than green? That will solve my problem.

Otherwise I will have a digital display which save a lot of money too!

Taka, yes it's been done. In fact, I think both zavhan and linus changed their green 52mm Defi gauges to red. As far as I know, it's just a simple open and change bulb thing but it voids any warranty you might have on your Defis. The Digital is limited in the number of gauges it can display at a time, right?
