Hi,

I am thinking of getting a new rx8 and did look at one from a PI at Alexandra.

Any things to look out for as i am a newbie with the RX8?

Appreciate comments from "lao chiao" with the Rx's.

 

we have "lao hiao", "lao tiko", "lao hero", "lao jiao" here......but never heard of "lao chiao" (old bridge??)

I also got my 8 from PI. Was told it has rev cut at 9k rpm and speed cut at 180km/h.

Just tested these, the speed cut is true at 182km/h. But the rev cut was actually at 9.5k rpm.

Any other bro here having the same rev cut as mine?

 

din't notice the rev cut......but my speed cut is somewhere 184 to 187km/h....anyway, i have done the remap...so now no problem about that. will take note of the rev cut next time.

"lao Chiao" in my context basically means "old bird".

Judging from the response, the knowledge some of you guys have is great.

Fundamentally i will just need a nice looking car, reliable, and a sporty engine.

170 or 180km/hr is way ahead of my league, 140km/hr, happy like hell liao!

Btw.....some PI offer 3 years ,60K mileage , some 2 years/ 60K , some 1 year ,20K mileage warranty.....a bit puzzled, since all the same 6AT , why the difference
given all the specs are almost the same.? Any secrets here?
