FL22 Coolant

Where do you guys get the FL22 Coolant as stated in the manual?

Anyone flush out the original coolant and using shell coolant instead?

CoupeM 08-25-2006 01:23 PM

FL22 is just another one of the variations of a long-life coolant. German origin. FL22 is Mazda branded long life coolant. It's one of the best stuff out there with 100,000km life.

Please don't change to some inferior off the shelf coolant.

what about ARC racing coolant

PitchBlaC 08-26-2006 07:35 AM

Other than MM, any other places that sell them? Can't seems to find even at autobacs.

You may wanna try prestone coolant - buay pai, avg 5 deg drop from factory across da board. I'm using a 70/30 water/coolant mix. And it's def not a waterwetter

I know that factory coolant is the best but the problem is no other place sells them except MM.

I just need something that is easily available off the shelf and is already premix.

By the way do you buy extra bottles from MM and keep for emergency?

MM will not sell to you. In fact all the tor kors will not sell to u.....

the next best thing is to get wat u deemed is best, off the shell..... i personally am using prestone, which is wat nissan' tan chong is giving to their customers now in their 350z and cefiro, as factory coolant.

Since u mention water wetter, Let me highlight the issue with water wetter and engine ice.

There is a floating mechanism in the so call reserve tank which is where our coolent are stored. This float is a device that triggers the sensor to inform us if the level is low. Using the wrong type of coolant will damage and affect the buoyancy of this float (mine did). If u see black residue on the bottom of the tank, chances r the float within will not last long.

cheerios

this is the issue with water wetter and some coolants. use it with pure water and you will not see this black deposits.
