Have you guys notice how some fit/jazz drivers drive their vehicles? So irritating and they think they have ultra fast cars with some modifications.

I am still awaiting my 8 to arrive and i am driving my CRV now.

One day, i just overtook a 'beng' fit to turn right; normal overtaking as mines a SUV so cannot do violent maneuvers anyway. And after we turned into a 1 lane road, he full throttle to overtake me. I simply slowed down and think what a fool he is. Thought my CRV is quite big and heavy, i can easily overtake him in stock condition.

And they always tailgate me when other lanes are empty, usually i give way as i think they are real immature to try to 'push' me. I did floor it once with a fit and the fool was smelling smoke. These guys have good torque but they lose steam at higher rpms. My CRV has a lag when moving off but it screams when pushed. 0-100 kph, fit/jazz =12 sec and CRV =11 secs.

Why do they think they are driving 'ferraris' when its actually a bloated reduced sized blob of a car?

Maybe they need to show they are not slow when ironically they are. I have seen real ferraris/GTO/Skylines keep to the speed limit and some are courteous driver too. Its all these tin cans that make the roads a dangerous place.

Maybe when i get my 8 they will back off a little. Final word, i have no intention to make the roads a dangerous place or mini arms race. Its pointless for me to race with them. Just posting some of my thoughts here.

There are all sorts of people out there. The fit driver probably posted in his forum about a CRV who cut him to turn right, then how he easily gun his throttle and "chiet" the CRV back. Point is, you can't control what other people choose to do with their cars (or their money) and getting an RX-8 is not going to make a difference. There will still be other cars to give you a different kind of FITS. The question is, will you be able to resist the temptation and keep your right foot under control in an RX-8? I always think the person who can give way is the better man, unfortunately my right foot doesn't always agree and I have to consciously remind myself that a faster car just makes it a deadlier weapon.

My right foot always in check because

1) I pay for my own car
2) I pay for my own petrol
3) Petrol prices keeps rising and i drive alot
4) I am married
5) Wife is pregnant
6) I do not think much of these fools who try to show off. See below

When you can, theres no need to show. People only showoff when they know they can't and try to prove to themsleves ironically they can. People will know if they can in the first place. Just like we all know that ferraris are fast.

I agree there are all sorts of people on the road. And sad to say S'pore is one of the worst place to drive in. You fly often you should know how courteous drivers in other developed countries are. (Not including LA drivers, they do not quarrel with you, they let bullets do the talking)

u drive a 8, and u drive a CRV, the mentality will be different... :D u may be saying u wun this, u wun that..... but we have to face it, u r changing from a SUV to a sports coupe.:D :D :D The adrenaline will start pumping the moment u step on the gas of a sports car. If u kena push, more likely u will gas up, followed by watever ur actions are, either speed up to filter left or to speed up let driver behind smell smoke.

moreover, once u have gotten the most of ur 8, u will always try oredi. dun believe, ask the auto guys and they will tell u more. Sqflyer is oso a gentle driver, but he becomes a beast once he senses a slight of provoke from other makes. He cupped corner without brake lights and make sure u smell his smoke. Let the man speak!!!! And his car is stock.... imagine if he has done up his car.... tink cun even smell smoke!!! :D :D :D

Be cool dude there's much more other ppl on the road than the FITS that are behaving like them!! I remember when I 1st got my in 03 be4 i crashed! I was still running in for my 8 & all the Civics & Rexs loves to push here & there! Just stay cool!! Hee! :D

Just pick a good line for the corner and you won't have to brake, not at the speeds we are driving at anyway... different story at track.

It would be good to drive in countries like Aust or US. I enjoyed doing some off-road now and then and i appreciate the 4WD and torque. Too bad i think i only used its full capabilities at most 5% of the time i had the car.

I bought it because my sis got a RAV 4 in Melbourne and that time it was in vogue to drive a SUV. And i was getting married so i thought i wanted something 'slower' with loads of space.

I like the car but too bad i cannot really make full use of it in sg. Thats why i got a 8 instead.

it's the drivers, not the cars, put them into a Perodua, and they'll do the same

True true. But i think there is a co-relation betwen model of car and driver. I kind of feel these lowend car drivers tend to either be new drivers or new car buyers. Never drove before so must show off a bit.

Most probably the high-end car owner has been driving for a long time. Maybe he is of a better character that enables him to earn more money and thus afford a better car.

Just like you find certain people in slums and certain people in high-class housing areas. I think there is some relation to a certain point. But of course as with humans there is diversity and you may still get scum in high-end drivers and angels in low-end drivers.

I think that most that drives and owned (not from dad's pocket) expensive/higher end cars tend to drive abit slower and more careful.

AND i wld say, alot of cars i see speeding down highways have a triangle on them

an Perodua Kancil once wanted to race with me on the M'sian highway. that small car had some real ugly mod - skirting, spoilers etc.

i glanced inside the car and 2 small kids were in the backseat. what the hell is the driver thinking? anyway, he won the 'race' hands down.

i simply couldnt be bothered. there wasnt any point to prove.

no point showing off your speed on the road, there will always be a faster car than yours no matter what you're driving.
