Fantasy question: What if you won a....
I just got back form an event -- free champagne so what the hell. Anyway, DBS bank gave away a free Lambo Gallardo for one of its luck credit card member. THe wife has no real interest in the car. The guy looks like he is still in a state of shock and probably drives a Nissan Sunny. Never heard of Top Gear or Fifth Gear. You know what sort of car person he is.
They want to sell it.
Personally, I would keep it. learn to drive it and track it at Sepang and decide in a year what next?
What would you do if you won that S$750,000 car?

maybe he's staying some HDB estates leh? MSCP cannot fit in the lambo wat!
and it's not a everyday car that u can drive around, unless u have your own carpark (richie rich). if i have to keep it, have to worry about vandalism and limited places to go. have to give hawker centre a miss too.....too much worries!!!
if i have won it, i'll do the same sell it...... and get a BMW M3, and still have ample cash to buy a property for investment!!!
dream on ........

You talking about the black card lambo. It was won by someone else?!!!
I was faithfully using it. Thought i had a good chance. Time to switch to my citibank cards. Take that, ungrateful basta*ds!!!
If i won it i will become a hermit and stay home all day stroking and waxing my car. I am already a half-hermit with the 8.

isn't that nice ... a lambo... for most the people here in singapore probably dont even get a chance to touch its leather seat, let alone own one....
it's once in a life time for one to own one especially its free.... what would i do with it... well for sure i'll keep it. Even if i need to sell my 8 to get some registration money and COE. Even if i can only park it in the MSCP... I'LL KEEP IT.
Drive it for a year, sell it for $500... enough money to then re-purchase a 8 if i wanna keep to that, or get my dream drive the 111R. And even with the 111R, I would probably still have $250k left.... hmmm isn't it nice.....
But of course, first i must get the Black Card...

I was talking to him and the wife. She has got a nice pair. Anyway, he gave me the impression that he just has to pick the keys up and drive it home next week. He was still in a state of shock. Dint tell his frens yet! Everyone and their brothers had their dirty paws on the car, lots of hand prints and even people with cufflings leaning on the car, taking their photos! Having said that, black for that lambo is not good... better yellow, orange or even pink! Its a "all of you out there, look at me" car.
No idea what the insurance would be... 5-8k? (He is about early to mid 30s.) I think he lives in a private home, here in the East Coast. Apparently, he said the Lambo agent told him that there were 60 Lambos in S'pore. (Hard to believe!)
Anyway, my suggestion to him, Mr K was to drive it for a while at least. Indulge yourself in a supercar for at least a short period of time. At least you have memories etched into your memory. How often can you say, you once owned a supercar? Sell in a year's time, what's his loss? (Dint cost him anything to start with. So no real down side as I imagine the decreciation is minimal.)
When he is 70, he will have at least vivid memories of it. If he cashes the car in, what memories? Downpayment for a house? His grandson can say, he won a punt at the horses; what a story, Mr K can tell him instead!! We don't seem to have too many indulgences here in S'pore. Everything has to be practical. As you get older you will recognise that, life is about stories and memories, then you die!
Also, told him, too bad he was married otherwise... imagine the fun.
I suggest to him to drive the hell out of the car; up & down to Penang. Wife hates the idea until I told her -- if you got a 10 room mansion, would you only use 2 rooms of it only? A light lit up in her head. She said that she wish they had this car in the States... wanted to pop her little bubble of driving in the States but I decided to refrain myself this time.
Anyway, he has no ideas yet. Only found out last week. So those of you who were spending frantically last weekend... throw a brick through your local DBS Bank's window. Results were out already. I dint even know of this contest and don't have a black card.

Well, owning the car is one thing, maintaining it is another, rite?
Here are some facts b4 anyone even consider keeping the Lambo they wish they could win.
1. Battery change - Minimum once every 18mths, about S$2000
2. Road Tax - About S$8000 (Estimate)
3. Insurance - Dun even dare to think about it
4. Car Service - Quaterly about $4000
5. Petrol Bill - Dun even dare to think about it again
6. And the list goes on..............hahaha
I rather sell the damn piece of Italian crap, and get myself another new 8 or Lexus GS, and re-invest the money.
Guess we should be earning at least like S$50K/mth to be driving a car like tat, or a rich daddy that buys whatever you want.........hahaha

for me i will sit in it, take a few pictures with it, drive it to the nearest dealer and sell it. honestly, i don't even trust myself to handle such a powerful car. i've seen the valets at clubs try to park it and it was just plain scary. think the valet also sweating. owning such an expensive car is one thing but maintaining it is another. and the longer you play around with it, the higher risk it is to damage it so i'd rather get it off my hands sooner and get the cash. my personal opinion bah.

I would take a loan, to maintain and drive it for 1 year rounding OG and tearing little WRX and EVOs. lol! Then sell, repay loan and the remaining money to buy a small property, rent out and pay for my 8 installments.

With the cash can get a 20B with twin turbo in the 8 and yet have more than enough to buy new 8 every year if the original one breaks down. And its not much slower than the gallardo to boot.

nay, dont thnk i will park it outside unless its outside tangs... used to drool over those supercars outside tangs...
i think i will still keep it, just dont do battery change or servicing and dont drive it so often loh. drive it only when its 3am and when i cant sleep.
i feel that the baby lambo is a much better looking car than its bigger brother though.

No point driving a lambo I feel...u can't do anything to it more or less coz u'll
be too afraid? Any slight nudge to the car will probably cost u tens of thousands...
a car only for the rich man...

The 5.5 mil Toto? I bought more than usual but ended disappointed again. The odds are so incredible for just a combination of 6 digits from 45 numbers. Lottery in other countries have a bigger prize pool and is easier to win. eg. 3 digits compared to our 4 digits to win $20. I once bought a system 12 and only strike 2 numbers.

my bro won a SLK200 the newest 1 from the cycle and carriage lucky draw, the car is worth about RM400+k, he sold it and took cash, then bought a house, but thats nothing compared to this lucky lambo winner... sighz! makes me so jealous

I am paying $1,050 for my 8. I assume that since the Lambo is 7 times the current value of the 8, multiple it up by 7 times? Then, the lambo's insurance should be around 8k per year? How does it work out to be 20k?
