Engine Oil For RX8

yeah, went for their launch and all. looks very good lor, dunno bring in simi bearing load machine and did a comparison between all the other oil brands. Maybe it works for pistons* but definitely not for rotaries even when they post a rotary product on their website - dun get suckered.
Eh Zav, your car pix texas still using leh, better ask them take down
(*I've used it on my Mz3 for one full service cycle and no ill effects, so shd be fine for pistons, but definitely not for rotaries)

IMO, 10W40 is the best for our engine. It is not too thin or thick. I thought W20 is abit too thin??? The v rough idles may be due to using thin oil or the owner 'loot' the car too often. Just my view... Just wanted to share with Bros here that Royal Purple is good and affordable (more cost efficient).
if i am not mistaken it is clearly stated the recomended oil grade for the 8 is 5W 20
5W is for winter...so don bother look at it....hence 20 is the correct grade for the engine...maybe 30 can still be acceptable due to higher operating temperature....higher that this grade i think will cos serious strain to the engine due to its tight tolerance.......in long run will cause premature failure i reckon.

I will definitely try RP and will let your guys know. I just wanted to seek opinions from different bros here. My friend told me his friend had been using RP for the past three years on his RX8 and RX7 (previous ride) and commented that it is even better than Idemitsu. There is no complaints about RP in his RX8.
If any of the bros here want to get RP, I have lobangs (but I'm no sales agent for RP). Just wanted to share.

i know in kl temperature could reach as high as 38 deg c....not sure if singapore could reach 45 deg c tho......

You may already get this information, but there are a few kinds of grades recommended on the manual depending on the outside temprature.
10W-30 (-20C .... +40C)
5W-30 (-25C ... +40C)
0W-20 (-35C .... +40C)
