typically a vibrating car are caused by these few things:
1. mounting
2. drive shaft
3. wheel balancing

not too diff to differentite between 1/2 with 3. for 3, happens even when not accelerating and only above certain speeds. 2 is not common and only happen after many years (above 5yrs), esply if the car was lowered excessively. for mounting wear, quite common. Depending on usage (and how often your redline), typically mounting needs to be changed every 2-3 years.

How old is your 8?

my view:

hmmm...that means problem started since car was 8 months old? then it might not make sense that the mounting is worn, esply when typically, rotary engines should vibrate less than piston engines. unless you drive the engine real hard all the time? if it is not the mounting, changing of the mounts may experience some improvement but not for long.

if it is still under warranty, better get it sorted out and find the root cause. hope that it's something minor and not major.

For the time being, go with the suggestion of changing mounts, see how it goes. it's like the cheapest solution at this point. take a look at the old mounts when they are removed, see whether the rubber is cracked / torn / hardened.

hi bro, from what i see when i open the bonnet, the engine doesn"t vibrate that excessively.
u mean when u drive hard often, the mounting will get premature wear but i thought this car is meant to drive hard :p
btw, i used to drive hard on my previous civic vtec but it still served me well for 2 1/2 yrs.
my warranty is already over, so hope nothing major hope changing of mounting help. after that me try to control not to rev hard so often :D
anyway, thks for the reply cheers....

I think its because the engine and gearbox are located so close to the driver position. When the combustion timing runs out of scale, you will feel the vibration. But dunno whether it has something to do with the Apex Seal. Can someone tell me wat will happen when Apex Seal is "KONG"???

Thanks

btw wont see diff at idle. when i said driving hard, it's just a general statement of more wear when car driven hard. nothing wrong driving hard on the 8, it's built for that, like your previous civic vtec. just remember to perform a visual inspection on the mounting when they are out from your car. hopefully all is well soon. Good luck!

I had the new right (passenger-side) engine mount installed on my car today. I was told by the mechanic at my dealership that this is a known issue that a tech support bulletin had recently been released on. He said according to the notice it was affecting cars at approximately 18,000 to 25,000 miles and was caused on the passenger side only because of the close proximity of the engine mount to the exhaust ports on that side of the engine. The problem can be seen if you remove the wheel and pull back the rubber splash gaurd and inspect the top portion of the engine mount for cracks. If you have the problem you would notice the car vibrating at idle. The problem was not noticeable once you had the car above 1500 RPM and where moving. The new part number for the updated mount is F151-39-040C. The original was 39-040.

Is your a parallel import one?
If it started 10 mths ago, it should be under warranty at that time right?

Just wish to find out if the dealer will warranty the mountings.
Cos with way I am driving, I may not reach 25000km even after 3yrs and by then the 3yrs warranty offer by Mazda motor will be over.

Wow, i realli hope this recently released tech bulletin is the answer man!

Many of us do face the vibration problem. Mine started since dunno when... maybe couple of months after i got my ride?

Keep us posted on urs Integra. In the meantime, i will get this part number and c whether GR can get the part. Fingers X-ed this stoopid piece of mounting will solve the problem. Aint it pissing us off? esp so when we paid so freakin much for the damn car....SIGH
