car damaged =( pls help!!

hi guys,

is anyone aware that we have 2 metal bars jutting out underneath our car at the sides? just underneath the doors

well i was trying to avoid a car that was coming too close to me on the left yesterday, and when i was turning right, i went up the kerb abit. there was a loud grinding sound and i faster stopped the car and got off to check

turns out the front part of the metal bar is dented and scratched quite badly... does anyone know if this part is replaceable or repairable? and will this dent affect the handling or anything of my 8?

if i am not wrong, u are refering to the two non-painted metal strips on the BOTTOM of the car. in fact, i think those strips are there for the exact purpose as what occurred to u. they prevent the car from any direct scratch with kerbs, road or what have yous. mine scratch like siao already from all the low humps, kerbs and stuff over the past two years. i din even bother changing it since i think that's the purpose they serve. so long as i dun look under the car i'm happy. but up to u lor if u wanna change it.
