Can't decide if I wanna commit to an RX8!

Hi guys, have been thinking over the past week on whether I should commit to the RX8. I read many review that majority were very satisfied with their car, and I am afraid that I would fall on the other end. By then it is no U-Turn for me. I find no point in driving a high FC car with no satisfaction. And selling it means I am gonna lose a lot. Willl I be happy and satisfied with the car like many of you, or will I be an odd 1? Sigh! Sorry for the ranting... But it really is frustrating to having to decide on commitment. lol!! I even ask GOD for a sign if I should buy the 8, and the moment I looked out of my office window, I saw a Shinka zoom past. WTF!! hahaha.... The coolest car I owned(imo) before was a 92 300ZX Twin Turbo, with abt 405bhp. The fastest car I owned was the GTiR.

Will I be impressed and fascinated with the 8?

What are you looking for in your next car? Looks? Straight line performance? Handling? Comfort? Nice interior? Practicality? Try to weigh the importance of each and see which one is closest to your heart, then choose.

Before this i was concerned about the FC too. But now i still smile even i am paying at least 30-40% more petrol than for my CRV. The thrill of driving a special rotary is simple that great.

Just ask the other guys here; the 8 is a head-turning car. People always go wow. People stop to look. WRX and Evos are secretly jealous that our slower car actually look better and not just another four-door saloon car (even with 400hp, a wrx is still a saloon).

So far i never regret. My only regret that i am not rich enought to buy a additional 6-spd to park at home and for track.

I'm kind of looking for a head turning car, auto(gf and parents can drive), normal driving but with power when required(sort of like my civic), handling without comfort compromised. It seems like the RX8 fits the bill, but heard that it is slower than the ceebics. Is the performance really that bad? I am not looking for a power car, else I would have gotten a WRX.

Anyway, comparison to ceebic kinda unfair. hehe.... coz those ceebics are modded, and the 8 is stock.

Not really worried about FC, as my current car gives me only 260km per $60 of Ron95. About 7-8km/L, which is abt the same as the 8 right? Just afraid that the only reason why my current car is giving me such bad FC is due to my driving style, thus will it put be on the lower end FC for the 8(like 200km per tank)?

By the way, the rotary engine was known to run on almost any fuel. Some claimed that u can even use alcohol to fuel it. Hahaha...... What grade petrol is required? Can we use 92 or 95?

7-8km/l is abt right for RX8 even if you drive aggressively. Min grade is 95.

Slower than an auto civic?!? Cannot imagine that...

minimum ron 95.

fuel comsumption wise, $100 (b4 disc) of fuel can give u ard 400km. $100 worth of fuel is ard 57 litres (based on ron 98). So effectively, doing ur maths, shld be ard 7km/l. This figure is based on my own driving style, my own car, with my own mods and not the standard figures.... i sure there are many with better figures than mine,..... but this shld be more or less the ball-park figure.

Thanks for the info guys..... Really appreciated. Sorry to trouble all of you. Just received some disheartening news about my company....... Sigh!! Was already all hyped up, had made a few arrangement with the dealer for my trade-in. And now I can't afford to take this risk. Need to monitor my company for another 6 mths to ensure my rice bowl is unbreakable to a certain extend. Damn! Hopefully I could join u all 6 mths down the road.
