Calling all birds....old and new!! SEPANG TRACK DAY! (*UPDATED 7th Feb*)
Need some of the old birds to help and set up a proper track day for the RX8 club leh....
Just FYI Sepang is fully booked all the way till end of the year with ONLY a few days in the middle of the week in June and the first available open track day is 19th Aug.
BUT....
Can I just get a show of hands on who might be interested in a track day on 3 Mar / 10 Mar / 11 Mar.
These dates are not confirmed and we would have to go 'piggyback' off a diff. club so it would be on a first come first served basis.
Pls input your names in this format followed by the date(s) you can make it.
Example:
1) Swerve76 (3 Mar / 10 Mar / 11 Mar)
We will pick the date with the MOST people who can make it.
NOTE: That there is no guarantee that we will be able to go - I will have to speak to the clubs that have booked those days and see if we can piggyback off them.
DISCLAIMER: Also putting your names down is just for me to roughly know how many of us are interested so I can give the clubs a figure of how many cars I am intending to take along when I talk to them. If and when we DO select a track date - to be fair to everyone involved, we will go according to the numbering on the list on a first come first served basis.
If any old birds can and are willing to help out, pls contact me via PM - many thanks in advance.
Maybe we could do a joint trip with some of our Malaysian club buddies too?

Maybe let me tap onto this thread.
I'm organising a Pasir Gudang track day sometime in March. As a prelude to any Sepang track days, maybe we can proceed to Pasir Gudang first.
WHY Pasir gudang?
1. Near
2. Try out before gg to the real deal (Sepang)
3. Cheaper
4. No need to stay overnight, no need tiring drive.
5. You guys may have heard all the myths abt the track being sandy and all, but all are unfounded. One of our guys just went.
Something to consider for u guys.
I'm organising a Pasir Gudang track day sometime in March. As a prelude to any Sepang track days, maybe we can proceed to Pasir Gudang first.

It really does not matter who organises things - so long as we all have fun right? So lets try and work together and maybe set up a monthly / bi-monthly track day? I'm quite happy to do the leg work to set these meets up, but I will need help and support from the old birds who have been there and done that.

Just an update.
This was the email I sent out to the Sepang track booking office:
Just got an answer today:
I'll give him a ring tomorrow. Am hoping for a track day on the weekend of end Feb (i.e. the weekend after CNY 24 / 25 Feb)

Advantage definitely is so much nearer compared to Sepang.
