Hello and welcome!

Another good alternative is Garage R at 210 Tagore lane. Tel: 65520811 or 65544137 - look for June or Lee. They have their own workshop next door, run by their brothers. Very good service.

You may have to wait a while for the car, last heard that demand is pretty hot in Japan, so takes a while to secure the car.

Hi pcrbond, welcome!

Have you got in mind what you're lookin at, a AT or MT, the 250spec or 210spec?
The price range so far have been around $130 for the 210 and $143 for the 250. Every PI deal quite differently, if you in need of the car quick you could always just take what ever that's sitting on the lot, if you wanna customise to your needs, the indent would probably takes about 3 months. Anyway both the PIs mentioned about are good. Do alittle market research would help. Good luck to your purchase!

Thanks, Renesis8 & Fab8.

Will check out both EZ-imports and GarageR. By the way, Fab8, your black RX8 really looks cool and aggressive! Especially with the rotary sign on your front spoiler. Does this come as stock item? Or is it a mazdaspeed bodykit?

I am really looking forward to owning a RX8. However, need to get pass my CFO (wife..) first. Used to own a Fiat Coupe Turbo 20V and had a really bad accident a few years ago... almost had to waste the car and spent more than $20K for repairs. Anyway, after that sold off the car after constant nagging from my wife. It has been a while since I own another sports car... sigh..

Hope will get to see all your beautiful ride one day! Cheers.

Thanks for the compliment! The rotary crest is an optional extra from Mazda. Otherwise, my 8 is stock.

Fiat Coupe! That was one of my favourites in the 90s especially the 20v! Still looks good, IMO.

Well, you can tell your CFO that its a four door 1.3 litre Mazda...:D

Got to becareful if you're buying off the shelve, it's probably ok if the car is in the warehouse and not in the showroom.

Alot of these salesman know nuts about the rotary, and very often offer the key to viewer to start up the car! This will cause the flooding of the engine, you can read up alittle more about it on this forum.

So good luck!

Alright gonna add my bit here...

Make sure u check that you have the CD option or the 6 disc as an additional option! I was in such a hurry buying my 8 off the shelve that i didnt realize the fxxking head unit is the most basic set with only Radio! I am actually running SONY 10 disc changer now thru FM modulator. The sound is ****!

Cheers...

Hi Neon,

Why don't you check u can order the parts in from Japan and fix it here? If I am not wrong, my 6 disc changer was on a seperate box and only got it fixed here in Singapore.

Hi UG_8,

I sure can do that. The only catch is i need to change the whole HU coz mine doesnt even have the single load CD slit. In order to run the 6 disc, i think i need the single slit too. Haiz...

THanks AnyWays :D

I stand corrected....

I did some research and found that i can simply install the 6 disc changer :D. The price is about low 800s.

Cheers

Hi just discovered this forum . seem like there alot of SGrean around.

I would like to seek more info from u all, have read up alot about rx8 but still would be better to ask those owners. Most probably i would be visting those PIs this few days that u all have stated above but have some question to clear hope u all can help and clear it for me.

Firstly, How is the comsumption of the fuel. For both the Auto ,5MT ,6MT trasmission.

??KM/L ??
full tank can travel how much km ?

Lastly, What should i look out for when getting that car?
or what should i ask for ?

Welcome simmer,

There are some threads on mileage already running in this forum. Go take a look there. The specs for fuel consumption is averaging between 350-450 for all MT/AT. Depends on how u drive it.

IMO, go get the 8! its worth it. This baby is oozing with class n sex appeal.....

Welcome Simmer,
like Neon had said, do a search on questions you wanna know first. Ask after if you can't find any or stil have doubts. You'll probably get more answers that way.

Anyway, as for your last question it's so broad, don't know what you're looking for?
Basically, in order to get the car price low, most of the showroom RX-8s here are pretty basic. Ask the PIs exactly what comes in with the car eg. sound system(does it come with base 6 disc changer), rear window replacement(don't get the China made one), air-bags (how many)?? Like I've said ask them, what comes with the car, compare them, or even make up your own list of things you want in the car and get them to indent it in, it will take longer but I think it's worth it.
Another advise don't get the showroom piece car if the saleman offer you key to start the engine, (that might cause flooding eventurally), these salemen from most PIs know nothing about the car.
Read up a little more about the basic spec of each model, otherwise it would be the blind leading the blind. Good Luck!

Hi Simmer

Welcome....

another concern is whatever additionals it cost... depends on your preference........it depends on individuals....

its a wonderful ride.....

dun expect it save on fuels for 1.3L .........8 drinks fuel like water....ard 350 to 450 full tank.....

u wanna consider the road tax (1.3) & insurance......

ciao.....
