Hello all, how r u guys and gals here.
Just wondering is it worth it to get one since i read the topic on issues and problems.There seems to be lots of issues with this car.Im already in the process of acquiring one.Sorry 4 askin u guys this but i really wud appreciate ur feedbacks on this.F.Y.I i dont have much to spend on maintenance, be it preventive or repairing, since half of my salary will be gone if i get this car.
I really luv the looks but then again the issues and problems really bothered me.especially in my understanding there is yet to be any specialist right here in brunei, only the claimed rotary specialist from grand motors.
I cant confirm this since i dont know anything about rotary engines at all.and do they void the warranty for putting on aftermarket kits.
Sorry for the long post, thanx in advance and will look forward to join this club if theres positive response from this post.

There's no specialist here, if the car fucked up, you are fucked in both time and money wise. It takes months and lots of money to replace any part of the car. A single mod will void warranty however I have not heard of any issues so far since everyone is still low on mileage.

 

Hi there, 1stnof all welcome to this club although only small number but increasing. The car from Brunei dealer comes with 3 years warranty tho no specialist but you see theres still RX 7 1st model, The savannah, RX 7 twin turbo infini still arnd in Brunei. The rx 8 style is there, price wise comparable with 350z( 2 seaters) four doors 2+2 pax, 1.3 lit eng equivalence to 2600cc normal piston car road tax only B$32 annually, its quite fast and people always take a 2nd look every time it passes by. Every car in the world breaks down depend how you maintain it, sure theres a problem but it can be solve. If I were you, put your hands in your heart and you will sense the feeling. All the best to your decision.

Anybody kno where to buy a high flow catalytic converter (mid-pipe) locally?

Can I get the fender strakes and front and rear rotary crests locally as well? The cheapest I found on the internet is at www.rx8strakes.com but I'm not too keen on ordering online as our postal services can make our stuff disappear in the post offices.

 

So who's got the highest mileage here?

Base on my experience ... Wanna play safe? Get the OEM Mazdaspeed from GrandMotor (u might spend around $10K, i believe) they can get ur bodykits approved by LTD. or if u've other bodykits in mind, why not negotiate with them... don't modified any parts unless u're willing to take the risk (void warranty). Even if u use other m-oil than the agent provided/recommended may cause warranty void (nonsense & bs!!)

There are few mechanics claimed they're rotary specialist, but i don't believe anyone of them. Cakap pun tara guna punya wah. Hehehe

Wanna good quality rx-8? get it from the agent, not from other used/recon car dealers. Unless u want auto-trans so used car dealer is ur option, coz agent bring only MT.

The current price is around $54K if i'm not mistaken ... that's a hell lot cheaper than i bought last year for $66K (could spent that 12K for suspension & light wheels).
