RX-8 can beat 350Z (auto) eventhough rx8 has only 190-215hp. I remember i'm having a 1/4 mile drag race with my fren with his 2nd stage mod auto 350z. As i expected he smoked me up on the 2nd gear. I think both foo77 & rain was there witness the scene.
FYI, there are more than 30 units of rx8 on the brunei. Juz not expose lah.
Improvement : 13B-MSP (RENESIS) more reliable & fuelsave than the older 13B-REW.
At the end , depends on the user's style of driving & maintenance etc ... how the engine will end up.

Well, Jan.. I'm suggesting that we could have a BBQ soon maybe this July.. Probably at the Hutan Simpanan Berakas on weekend.. u had a Z before? if yes why did u sell it?
i know straight lines no doubt Z wins it but on the track the 8 will not be easily beaten.

I must amid that rx8 is not a true rival of 350z...... Top Gear doesn't reflect the true difference between rx8 and 350z...... You see, top gear's track is not a pure racing track with good tarmac and it was tested on different day where the driver might have different mood and adaptability, different weather ............ If you want a good reference, get Best Motoring..... My frens say 350z is more like muscle car and heavier like european car........ Early torque is amazing....... if it's a beautiful car, i like to have one at my home, just like my 8......

Any track is a good racing track to test cars on, the only problem with Top Gear's and Best Motoring frequent Tsukuba track is that it favours cars with lower power and better handling character. Just check out how the S2000 being almost competitive in every episodes against higher power cars but put in on track like Fuji, the Z certainly has the edge.
The 8 on the other hand just lacks acceleration but the high end isn't that bad, its good on the track coz of the lighter weight in comparison with the Z. Braking power not as useful on the streets became an obvious weapon on the track, go check out another episode on how the NSX-R leaves the Lambo in the dust in the corners almost as fast as how the Lambo thrash it in the straights. It just shows how different tracks favour different cars and how meaningless it is to compare stats of different cars (not bashing anyone here, so please chill).
As for long distance, a bigger displacement engine or bigger driver's ***** is all that matters (no offense to you C-One Eight, etc). Any road that's flat enough and almost straight enough is obviously an advantage for a higher power car until you ran out of road or you ran out of *****, I'm still waiting for the day that the dragging scene is not the only car thing we'll see in Brunei.

Still dreaming of legal proper track, so that our drivers can test their skills.

If there is gonna be a track, not a track like F1 track, just a simple track like those in europe. 30-40 acres. 20 KM track. situated in Kota Kinabalu. will you guys pay to come here and enjoy the track with your cars?
