In turbocharger you can upgrade it along the way! it depends on your engine, how much boost it can take!!

But I like the idea of 3 different boost settings in Dash, it makes the engine not always under stress!! maybe it worth the money!!

I suggest you do something to your ECU, Not "Motec" just simple piggyback will do!! Caused rotary very sensitive to detonation so A/F mixture and timing must be retuned!!

ok, its out. paid imperial concepts a visit last week and it retails for 8.4K SGD (cash n carry)
Confirmed, an INDON 8 owner has bought 1 set too...

Heard dat a black 8 has beenbought in SG already.....hmmmm (WHO???!!!!)

ST also has a set and askin for 9K plus installation.

Details : Comes with no ECU but a little black box (piggyback) dat serves the 3 modes purpose, simply controls A/F ratio only...
No intercooler though dats sad, considering the price n 8's generally very hot. However, u can pay for additional intercooler...dat sux too
They r also recommending to install oil cooler which really baffles me as JDM - 1 and EUro - 2. guess not everyone knows abt dis fact....heh

 

juz a note to those who is installing super charger or turbo kit.

Ur original ECU cannot take the super charger and turbo kit. To install these force-induced devices, u need someone to tune ur ecu to match whichever one u installed.

try talking to rotary tuners and they will tell u if no tuning done, get ready to replace a new set of 13B. :D

 

Actually I agree with 2F2F... if you are looking at power at 9k value... $9k can get a full racing mod FD3s recong eng fr AUS/USA....

$9k turbo kit alone will not give you over 500PS in RX8...... there are other mods u need to consider. Rx8 rotor built at over 11...(inch??cant rem std measurement) has very high compression and cannot take high boost from turbos. It was not design for turbos in the 1st place..... you will need to change the rotors, like those in the FD 13b engine whose compression are lower at abt 9plus, to achieve a more suitable lower compression rate for turbo boost. So for $9k turbo kit, with stock rotors, stock apexi seals.. etc etc.... 50ps increase would seem about right. Overboost.... n you will need to shipped in a new engine or get us to help you rebuilt one

Hm... if u serious on power, i think i recommend the racing mod rebuilt FD3 eng or join us in our quest for performance & reliability wif our FD3s .... :p

woah supracharger coolz man, tot the rx8 only best others wif its looks, now wif the charger performance wise greatly revaluated, and tink it will b safer then turbocharged which normally hav higher boost tat may damage the internal... way 2 go man... my dream ride is getting better

 

Hi, guys sorry if i dissappeared for so long, cause now still enjoying my holiday.

I just finished my tour of duty for the garages and would have to say that was the highlight of the whole trip.

Just checked with RE yesterday and they said the auto can gain 50ps with the TC boosting at 0.4 and the max limit it can take is 0.5 bar
