Anyone Need Braces?

Thought I did share this with everyone.

I checked recently that for a steel set of under brace, would prolly cost around 1k+. I recently came across a factory that is able to produce alluminium (Code 6061, lighter and stronger) braces for just around US$450 (including freight and of course group buy). Please give me a PM as I will be placing an order myself.

Cheers!

U must check if the Alum is a hollow tube, cos those Alum used for car parts has an addition wall in between the tube. (which looks something like having 2 semi circle if u view on the cross sectional view of the tube)

Hope u understand.

I think Morgan's point was that alum cannot be stiffer than steel and you need to make sure there are good stiffeners to compensate loss of stiffness. in fact alum is softer and not as strong as steel but it's lighter than steel. hence normally designers would stiffen the bar by adding "walls", and in so doing, the final product can be as strong and yet weigh lesser when it is constructed using steel.

Dont think that the quality is a issue as the source i got from is actually a japanese firm doing OEM parts. I seen the braces for myself and looks really good... here are some pics of the braces.

It looks actually like the AutoExe brace...

But the Price abit high for copies. US$450 = S$684,

To bad Rx8 is not popular in Taiwan, cos theres a company call Summit that produce very good quality brace. and at a much lower price.

Dear morganoh,
with regards to your previous post. It is rather contradicting, as you mentioned that the braces are too expensive. U have clearly shows that the reason why that it is more costly can be mainly of its quality. If it wasn’t of good quality I doubt they would sell it at a price like this, not to mention that demand is also an important factor. You also say (RX8 is not popular in Taiwan) of cos other popular cars, products price usually cheaper. Lastly the freight for these kinds of things isn’t cheap. I am not saying all these because I have a biased opinion. But before you actually compare different products do consider other factors

selling at a higher price doesn't necessarily means it's of a higher quality

From: North? i think..
hmm...

let me add my 2cents worth to it.... yes ive actually seen this under brace and the meterial that is used is very sterdy... meaning tat its firm and strong... by lifting it, u can also feel that its heavy and i dunno to others but to me heavy = strong...

also USD450 is quite a good price...

let me tell u guys my story... im using a carbing 8pt under brace... its cost me abt 1k+++ ... everytime i go up or down a steep hump... my heart drops.. coz i can hear the sound of the under brace scratching the ground.... hmm... u decide..

underbrace is meant to strengthten the chasis of the car... but if the underbrace keeps getting grounded, im sure even steel will break depends on how u drive...

so think abt it and u make ur own choice...

Lowrider... appriciate your concern... but sometimes "Size Does Matter" and this is alloy made... light... i doubt women would want something as small as a tooth pick just because it will fit in better.
