i am interested in getting a RX-8 and my friend already has 1.

His car aircon is not really cold, (my honda fit's aircon is much more cooler), and his problem seems to be there since day 1. His is a PI car, not from MM.

Is this common or isolated only to his car?

hi... mine is PI and its realli cold.. usualli i juz put it to 20degrees and leave it on 1st... aniwei. i tink it may b due to the heat frm the engine below. coz the engine is juz beside ur legs?

 

First week or even month may not be cold. But my aircon is quite cool now. I usually set it to 25.5 or 25 when its hot. And i am a person who really hates the heat.

 

I suppose your aircon the digital kind (climatic ) where you can set the temperature in digital number?

is there in the singapore market a rx-8 with normal type aircon, where you cannot set the temp in number, but just a dial?

thot maybe there is a difference...

I think those kind of thermostat aircons are virtually obsolete or only available on budget cars. So far i have not seen those "normal" aircon controls in a long time.

 

Thanks to my loyal mazda customer father, plus the used 7 i once owned, i have sat in or driven 5 different mazdas over the years. For every one of them, the aircon seems less cold than in other cars. Mebbe it's just mazda, if i'm not just imagining things.

 

Maybe your friend's car has a A/C condenser leak?

 

Aircons nowadays are not as cold as those in old car models (>10 years old). I think its the different refridgerent used now. Window tint is the next best mod to get colder aircon. Or get those lorry aircons; super cold.
