5-Speed Manual - Strange Sound - Need advices

Since I collected my 8, have this strange sound (like "cluck", quite loud), after moving forward about 1m. This only happen after start-engine from cold eg in the morning, or go home after office. After this "cluck" sound, if I stopped the car completely, and then moved on again, there wasn't any sound.

The salesperson said that this is normal for manual car due to the clutch engagement.

Changed my engine oil today (first 1,000 km) and the workshop said that if there wasn't any fault-signal/alarm from the car, it should be alright !?

Does any bro / sista who drive manual kindly share if you have such experience.

Many thanks.

Does the sound come after you try engaging the car into the first gear, but it won't budge as though it is stuck, when you do get to move it and the 'cluck' sound happens? If so, it's because you got your handbrakes up too high. I get this all the time after I send my car to the carwash, they always pull up my handbrakes to the highest point. I believe this is cause the brakes weren't fully disengaged.

If this is not the case, disregard everything I just said.

Goody, I have the same "problem" too ! I casually mentioned it to the MM people and they appear to have never heard of such an issue..... So I guess it's normal then since all of us are experiencing the same thing??? Mine's a 6MT. Cheers

It's an ABS check. Some people hear it some dont. It happens in mine every morning when I roll out of the garage (after about 3 feet). I've lived with it for 2 yrs. Dealers/mechanic etc. says it's normal.

hi, just wondering, if the sound disappered after sometimes, does this mean the the abs check is no longer performed just after cold-start? or may be we just could rely on the abs fault-signal?
