The first week I had my 8, I almost wrecked it because the DSC/Traction Control was ON. Coming through a sweeping left turn on the freeway at about 70 (speed limit was 65), the system felt the car "slipping", so it cut torque to the inside rear wheel. At that speed, when one wheel suddenly rotates slower than the others, the car turns that direction, so that put me in the left lane (I was in the right coming into the turn) right behind the car I was about to pass. Since then, the only time I drive with the system ON is when it's raining. I'd rather feel my car responding to the road.
Oh, and for my High Performance Drivers' Education seat time, I leave the system on. It does help at higher speeds for novice drivers. You can tell you're driving the car RIGHT when that little "car going bananas" light flashes at you.
